Anyone know if the second gen is worth the extra 70c? Really hangin out for a maccas soft serve

    • +1

I think only new feature is that it has google assistant.

      • Also it doesn't come with the airplane adapter, which is poor form by Bose.

    • +5

I was really hoping for a comment like this. You did not disappoint. #theheroweneed

But if you stick a flake choc in the soft serve. You can't afford it.

    • Thanks for the NE

  • Does second gen have the case with the airplane adaptor holder? I think that was another difference.

    • Ahh yep you're right, they removed that. I'll include it, thanks!

    • +1

My second gen came with a 3.5mm cable and an airline adapter tucked in the case.

      • Mine did not (from Amazon aus).

Where did you buy yours from? Was the adaptor a Chinese one just slipped in for 'added value'?

        • Mine came with one too. Super nice Bose branded one that folds and stuff. Identical to the one that comes with first gen headphones.

        • I purchased from an AU seller on eBay. It was packaged and tucked into the actual case so not slipped in. I was very happy to see they had included them as I was using the headphones on a plane and desperately needed the converter and 3.5mm cable.

        • Yeah I think the airline adaptor is an optional extra. On the original case they have a dedicated spot to 'store' your airline adaptor.

        • @cyssero: which au seller?

        • @Aemit: Purchased from avgreatbuys also known as 'Instyle Home Theatre & Hi Fi'. Exact listing here: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bose-QC35-ii-QuietComfort35-Seri…. There must be subtle variations with the product and packaging contents. Received tax invoice with GST from Australia and claimed TRS, seller claims to be 'Authorised Bose Premium Dealer'.

Edit - Have looked at what the airline adapter holder looks like, mine does not have this holder. Also realise that it is entirely possible the adapter in there was provided with the earbuds the airline gave me.. so apologies, it may not have come with the bundle as I stated previously. It definitely has a Bose branded 3.5mm to 3.5mm jack though.. and that could have been what I was grateful to see!

    • It doesn’t.

To be fair most airlines have ditched the 2 prong attachment for a standard 3.5 jack.

      • You need to go tell most airlines this.

The extra button has another feature, if you're not using Google Assistant that button can be used to turn ANC on/off. But I believe it's an either/or kind of thing. Meaning you can use it to control the Assistant OR control ANC, not both.

    • +1

correct. also ANC goes high, low, off (and doesn't seem to remember your previous setting…)

very annoying actually. I need ANC button there because ANC=high all the time is ridiculous, but I'd love to have easy access to google assistant. just put two buttons! or have a double tap for ANC control!

Hopefully the 3rd Gen will have a USB type c charging input.

  • Hi Guys, Is this a good price to buy?

    • +1

The RRP on the official Bose website is $499.95 - if you were looking at buying a pair this is probably one of the best current prices.

      • +1

        Thanks Isaac.

  • Does anyone know the warranty these come with? 1yr I assume?

I’m able to get these on a 4yr warranty but for $499. Is the extra #130 worth the extra 3 years?

    • +1

Is the extra #130 worth the extra 3 years?

      Not sure if joking

      • 100% genuine :) I have no idea on how long these headphones last but previous cheaper brands have lasted a good while. I assume & would expect these to last a long time.

        • Consumer law has your back.

        • @stickyfingers:

So if I bought these speakers, how long does warranty or consumer law cover your back for? Up to 4yrs for a replacement is a great incentive imo.

I assume technical faults are just 1yr warranty.

        • +1

@Carpe Diem: a reasonable amount of time. It’s intentionally vague.

          Also, these are headphones.

  • Bugger, thought it was from Microsoft store. That AmEx credit will come in handy

    • +1

Get Harvey Norman to price match video pro online store ($398). I did it via online chat. With the amex Harvey Norman deal, it brings it down to $348. And TRS if going overseas $312

      • Hi Dimple,
On VideoPro website it has it listed as $418. Can I ask where you saw the $398 price?

  • I think the black QC35II is no longer available :(

    • Yeah I just noticed that, they should restock soon hopefully :)

      • Is there a way to notify when it gets restocked? happy to pull trigger at $360

        • +2

I don't believe so unfortunately, I'll keep an eye out and comment when it's back!

        • Received our qc35ii this morning from last eBay 20%off deal.
Very happy with this headphone and really makes a difference with the other cheap ones we had ;-p

  • thanks got the gen 2, and going to nz next monday so will be able to claim back trs

  • Not up on their site anymore.

  • For a bit more ($373.50) you can get the QC35 II's from this seller https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/Bose-QC35-ii-QuietComfort35-Seri…

    • Says 395 .. how did you get 373?>

      • The 20% off code to get $373 expired a couple days back. Another deal will come up for $368 or less before long I'm sure, keep an eye on this link

      • $373 again.
