VGA input. Lol they are still putting that on a 4k tv that's hilarious. I wonder when that input format will finally die out.
I feel like it's only being supported still because of businesses needing it for outdated tech. Seems like as low a price as you'll find for a 4k tv, though I do have to wonder about quality at this price point. I wonder how much better the $500 kogan 4k tv can be.

I do a lot of talks at schools, hospitals, govt departments…VGA is still everywhere.

As someone once said, it just works.

Yes, it’s dated. Yes, there are better options. But organisations are slow to change.

And you can still buy laptops at JB etc with VGA ports.

So i don’t think it’s going anywhere soon.

It amazes me but I also feel like Poor dvi never really got it's shot as a connection port on laptops. I mean sure its on a few but I think hdmi came along pretty soon after they started with dvi and after that you didn't really ever see it on laptops anymore. Funny how that works though.

        • Ahh, the good ol’ DVI port. Like FireWire it found a place mostly with Macs. They’ve both disappeared even though they were very good.

Some things last but some fade away…

        • My work only has VGA and DP. That's it. No HDMI, no DVI. It's so weird. Frustrating at times.

        • @flaminglemon: DP is best among all, HDMI comes second.

        • @bargainaus: It's the age old question. Why can't there just be one standard? Years ago, I read that a few big companies were working together to make the humble ethernet cable a multimedia standard. Nothing came of it. Can't find that article now unfortunately.

    • Yep businesses

    • It will die off soon. Most likely be replaced by USB-C.

But some many companies still use legacy VGA ports. And architects don't help when they still in 2018 recommend buildings with VGA ports.

  • I bought a 55” for $420 about 18 months ago. Works well, no complaints

  • I bought the 50" model about 6 months ago for the same price and I've been happy with it so far.

  • Smart TV?

Personally, this doesn't bother me. Buy a chromecast or Apple TV or Roku to get this functionality.

Being an IT Guy, Smart TV's worry me as they are normally rarely updated and most run old versions of Android OS that are ready to get hacked.

      • Smart TV make it easier one remote no need for additional PowerPoint's etc

Sony smart TV handles apps Android boxes don't like Amazon prime

      lack of stock, check.

  • The reviews on bigw website is pretty bad…

  • I have the 55" UHD version. 90% of the time it works fine.

However I have an issue with via my Apple TV 4K some 1080p/4K content gives sound with no picture. Does anyone know if the Viano supports HCDP?

As a previous owner, I would advise against this TV. I agree the price looks like a bargain but TV's picture had faint lines running all over it. I preferred my 6 year old Samsung Plasma over it any day. Saying that I sold this crap within 3 months and bought a refurbished Hisense which is worth every penny. Hope some find this comment useful.

    • A refurbished Hisense? Who sells them?
