1190
PIZZAZZ

Hi Team,

The lower capacity SSDs have been getting all the attention in recent posts, but crucially the 1TB version MX500 has got in on the action. Helpfully PCByte have added an additional 12% discount to the PIZZAZZ 10% off, bringing this down to $281.16 delivered with the Ebay Plus free trial. I haven't seen this below $300 for Australian stock, a lot of recent bargains have been around $310.

MX500 is on par with the Samsung EVOs and is a great drive, perfect for fast access to your internet memes and claymation project files.

Update: now cheaper here, get amongst it

  • Excellent find!

    • so this or samsung?
      or M2 samsung etc?

      • +1

MX500 is on par with Samsung Evo 850/860 ssd compare link

It's the 960 Evo which has way higher performance, as it is NVMe technology. m2 is actually just a form factor.

        • yeah when I said m2, I just mean as in the standard sata ssd or newer nvme/m2 one

          and whether is worth getting

          -in real world usage terms..

from userbench the samsung evo 860 has a slight 4% edge improvement on the mx500

  • Brings it more into line $ per GB with the 256 and 512 gb Crucial deals we've seen …. wonder if this is due to shift in supply as users move to M.2 format ?

    • +2

Probably more that Samsung and the other major memory suppliers are getting fined billions for price fixing.

      • +2

Cost of doing business they call it

    Upvote for crucially pun

Hi OP, can you ask PC Byte to do a similar deal for the m.2 sata version of it?

    • +9

      No I can not.

      • yeah M.2 sata is fairly dead …haven't seen on a new laptop or motherboard in some time …

        • -2

          oh yeah, u think so?
I would rather buy m.2 sata for cheaper, rather than a m.2 pcie who i still don't find a use for it yet

        • @bestbarginever:
has to do with market forces ….. my gigabyte motherboard is 5th gen and has m.2 pcie, my lenovo laptop has m.2 pcie ….. i think the move to pcie is speed ….i don’t use the m.2 pcie due to cost compared to 2.5” ssd state drives and all our machines how have ssd, but probabaly the next ssd i’d buy if the same price as 2.5” would be m.2 pcie as that would go into my current and future boards and laptops , and for my older desktop i can always buy an adapter ….

check the popularity of m2 sata on gigabyte or arock motherboards vs m.2 pcie.

      • Hi OP, can you ask PC Byte where they last saw your socks?

  • Wasnt this cheaper yesterday?

    • +2

      But it's today

    • +1

It was $284 yesterday @ 20% off, this is 21.8% off total so cheaper.

  • Dam, was hoping for one of these in 1TB, great price!
After picking up another 500GB 860 Evo last night (5th SSD this week) i dont think i can justify another SSD. If only i hadnt ordered the Evo….

    • +2

      Sure you can! ;)

    • how much you paid?

      if you are ebayplus
you can return it for free.

      • Hadnt thought of that, dont really have the time to return it, ill find a use for it im sure :)

        • how much you paid?

        • 5 ssd in a week?

what uses are you putting these ssd in ?

        • @pinkybrain:
NAS cache, upgrading some existing SSDs, removing my last old games HDD and two spare for laptop upgrades that i seem to be doing so many of these days…

    • +1

Put them all together in RAID 0

  • Would this work and fit in the ps4 pro?

  • Interesting, been waiting for a 1TB SSD to go under $300, wonder if I should wait longer.

My current 500gb SSD has 180gb left of storage

    • So technically you are waiting for it to go under under $300? ;)

      • maybe under $250? :p

    • this a very good price …. get it, up grade and you can relax for a while …..not productive wasting time to free up space because no good deals around for bigger drives …..use the time to move to a bigger drive.

  • Thanks OP, order with eBay Plus

  • Thanks. Need a new SSD for the Steam summer sale!

    • +4

You should be able to fit up to two modern titles on this ssd

  • Brilliant for my new PC build, was considering going with an M.2 but no point if i'm saving $70 to use this Crucial 2.5"

  • My SSD is getting delivered today, going to clone my wife's PC desktop main drive onto it. In the past I've used the free cloning software from Easeus but I'm wondering if there is a better way that anyone knows of (still free)?
