Amaysim are offering nothing much when you finally find out what their daily service charges are.

    • It’s not really a secret. U can get a list of all their rates before signing up.

      • I've only been using computers for 30 years. It took me some time when ascertaining what get-outs, small print and weasel words applied to the particular offer. Their site makes Vodafone look useful.

don't recommend these guys they are not going to give promo stuff. I have joined 3 months ago and this was the biggest mistake I did.
I am still chasing promo headset and whenever I talk to them they say its escalated to marketing team. their rates are more then AGL.
I am going to cancel it soon. these guys are pathetic and I wouldn't recommend

    • I received my headset its cool once I receive i switch to cheap one 😂

  • What about their connection charges? Do they waive?

  • They offer 40% discount for on time payment but their rate is about 30% more expensive than others LOL

Still worth a free month of electricity to some. Rates are all different so u might be getting shafted but others may be getting a decent deal.

    • So what, that can still put them ahead of the competition.

Why do people keep promoting these when their prices are not comparable…. The over-all package sucks

Because you can join up, get your $150 off and then cancel and move back to a cheap provider.

      • Oh yeah…. Of course… there's that:)

I found Amaysim to be the cheapest electricity provider for me - but horrifically expensive for gas (so I went with Energy Australia). If the $150 doesn't appear on my first bill I will happily churn to a new provider. Prices are different depending on where you live and no contract means switching providers is 5mins & a few keystrokes away. I check all providers every 6 months anyway - most states have a government run energy comparison site.

    • You’ll need to chase them for the promo but they will sort it eventually if you keep at them.

    • @sinners007 Im the other way around, who is your gas provider? I was with with origin and it charged 62c for daily usages.

  • I have found Amaysim electricity charges are very reasonable but gas is a bit expensive. You get the discount on the usage and supply charges which is good. But the downside is that you don't get it on your first bill or your last bill, while other providers like Simply Energy, you get the discount on every bill.

  • Just called up today and got the guy to apply the $300 discount even though the promotion period had ended, so give that a try. Most energy companies are desperate to attract new customers.

  • For those who here later:

Got my second bill recently and finally understood how their discount is applied. So, they say 33% discount and 20c feed-in tariff (SA solar2).

Basically whatever you pay on your bill, you get 33% and apply it as discount from next bill (my bill is $100, I'll get $33 off from next bill). That mean discount is applied after solar deducted and after previous discount applied. I needed some time to realize it :-(

This dodgy trick makes 33% more like 16% and solar feed-in tariff something like 20c*0.66=13c. In this light considering their base tariffs their electricity looks very expensive.

Also had to push them hard to make a switch, they could not do it in 4 month, saying they had some transfer errors.

P.S. good side of this company is that they push solar feed-in tariff higher and stimulate market in some way.
