    • AKA Mongrel

      • Yes, staffy adjacent mutts seem to be the most common breed of dog. Don't take it as a bad thing though - staffies are great.

    Mini Schnauzer
    Pitt bull

I live near a bogan infested area, and I think to move into that area, you have to own a pit bull… sorry, I meant “American Staffordshire Terrier”

  • +15

    Maltese

    • I would've thought Maltese would be top 10.

  • +3

    Lebrador ?

    Fox Terrier
    Cavoodle

    • Sorry, of course labrador ))

    • +29

      Lebrador ?

      Very intelligent, and fully sick

      • +3

        They're all good boys, bro.

      • +1

make sure you have v8 or turbo if you are taking them for a ride!

    • +1

No such breed as a Cavoodle!!

      • They're all just different shapes of dogs - despite what some stuck up arseholes with their self proclaimed authority and inbred dogs claim.

      • We have a Cavoodle, but no it is not a breed lol just a Mutt.

    • Mascot of a mobile telco.

  • +9

    Samoyed!

  • +41

    Hot Dog

    • +2

Why does this not have 100 upvotes?!!

      • Because every one knows cold dogs are better.

        • No, you're thinking of a "Cool Cat"

  • +2

    english cocker spaniel

  • +3

Is this purely 'research' to identify new / popular items to print on goods?
Surely there are better ways to identify the most popular dog breeds.

    • +13

      Thinly veiled advertisement.

Also most people looking for an "I love Corgis" mug or tshirt are going to just google search "Corgi Mug", so unless they can beat out the hundreds of large custom print websites like CafePress, Zazzle, etc for one of the top google spots they probably won't do a lot of business.

  • +2

Scottish terrier maybe? I see plenty of them about

  • +3

I've never seen an Australian Shepherd dog. I think they're more popular in America (despite the deceptive name).

To your list, I would add:
    Doberman
    Shetland Sheepdog
all the bullshit "oodle" hybrids (Labradoodle etc.)

    • Thank you abb! Doberman and Shetland Sheepdog will definitely join the list soon.

  • +9

    staffy

    • stuffy

    • How are staffys not on that list? Heaps around… I would have thought it's a top3 breed in the country when it comes to sheer number of animals.

      • There is no science behind the list from OP. They are a printing company and made up a list of breeds that they probably already have good images to use.

  • +2

All the best for your new business.

    • Thank you so much Stix! Really appreciate it! It's actually our second T shirt store. Because the dogs products are so popular so we decided to create a website 100% related to dogs.

Some of the Labrador and golden retriever mixes are pretty popular. Labradoodle, Groodle for example. (Especially people who are allergic)

King Charles Cavaliers are really popular as well

    • -3

the mixes are not breeds - used to be called mongrels

  • +2

    English Cocker Spaniel <3

  • +1

    English Staffordshire
    Aussie Terrier

    Doge

I have been vetting on-and-off for 31 years, reckon the most common beast I attended was a 'staffy'. Usually a bit of something else thrown into the genetic make-up. Afghans were popular 30 years ago, they were somewhat silly. Not many sausage-dogs (dachs), dalmatians, dobermans or beagles around these days (beagles used a lot by customs/biosecurity, and making tick anti-serum). Otherwise you list looks spot-on. Shiba Inu = Akita? Cheers

    • +1

      Maltese Terrier?

  • +3

    K9 and ABIO

  • +2

    dingo

Best of luck with the shop. Pugs rock - big dogs in little dogs bodies.

If you decide to branch out into kitties then put up another posting.

    • Thank you very much! Yeah, pugs are amazing, they were number one in our list!

    • +2

Pugs are cute but don't rock, their squished in face prevents them from breathing properly and it is cruel to continue the breed :(

  • +3

    Labradoodles and Cavoodles :)

    • +1

Not considered breeds of dogs - just a puppy farm term

  • +2

    Labradog

  • Chihuahua and crossbreed Mal-shi

  • +1

    Whippet and Italian Greyhound.

  • +5

Agree with pegaxs, every second bogan in my area also has a staffy. Interestingly 70% of the dog breeds in the local animal shelters here are staffys or staffy crosses. ,???.

    • Someone told them they could make money breeding staffys, especially rare colours. Then they all ended up in the shelter :(

      • They're not doing it to get rich, it's happening because they're not responsible enough to get their dogs fixed.

        • My dog is intact and I'm a responsible owner.

  • +1

Gordon Setter English Setter Irish Setter

  • Xoloitzcuintli

    • +1

      Uwotm8

Golden retriever: the Holden Commodore of dog breeds.

    • Nahhhh, 50% of the population doesn't hate em.

  • Dupe

  • +2

    Malamute

  • +4

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel it is called - not just cavalier spaniel.

If you look at RSPCA and other dog rehoming sites, there are always a lot of Irish Wolfhounds (and various crosses of them).

I walk every morning and you see a LOT of staffies.

    • Was going to mention the CKCS different dogs.

  • +1

    Mini Foxie

  • +2

Boganise terrier. Often seen in shopping malls and cash converters looking for ugg boots highly sort after to train in tobacco pouch retrevail and beer bringing.

    Ray Hadley

    • +1

Do you mean ray hadley from 2gb? If so then yes i agree. He barks exactly like a limp wristed dog.

  • I'll just say ray Hadley. I don't want to be sued.

  • Wow, that's amazing thread. Thank you very much everyone for your help!

  • +2

    Miniature Schnauzer

  • +7

    Shih Tzu

    • I have a purebred Shih Tzu and for some reason, everyone wants to cross them with those little arsehole Malteses.

  • +1

    Newfoundlands
