    ARGH not free sync.

Why cant we have a decent freesync QHD panel under or close to 300.

    • -1

I haven't noticed a difference since I got a GPU that has freesync support, not worth it.

You are doing something wrong. Are u using the displayport cable?

        • No :/ my monitor only has HDMI and VGA. I enabled it in the menu and in AMD's driver software thingy whatever the (profanity) you call it but couldn't notice a difference with my eyes even when trying.

        • My monitor is a LG 24MP59HT-P while my GPU is a HIS (reference) 8GB RX480. Using the HDMI cable that came with the monitor.

        • I thought you freesync was supported over HDMI?

      • That's fine, free sync only matters if your computer can't run at the full refresh rate. It's a waste of money if you're computer is able to run above the monitors refresh rate.

        • That's incorrect.

My specific model of monitor has undocumented free sync support, I believe. There is an almost identically named monitor, actually it is identically named, that does say it has it. but mine doesn't say it has it, but to my eye it does. And the freesync tool thinks it does too. I see no tearing in games even though I have vsync off.

      Because it costs more…

  • need ssd deal

  • Also potentially of interest:
Viewsonic XG2401 24" Freesync 144Hz (same price and store)

    • Lower resolution though

      • +2

Yes, of course. Smaller screen too, but higher refresh rate and Freesync (48-144Hz) would make it useful for gamers on an AMD card.

  • I'm getting 'we ran into a problem' trying to use this code.

    • Did you follow the instructions mentioned in description ?

Gotta change your registration address to USA. Leave your shipping address obviously…

After postage is added (eBay plus doesn't seem to take effect when logged into the US site), at least to SA, this becomes around $280, only a small discount off the typical price of $299 offered by local brick and mortar like MSY (not that they ever seem to have much stock). In the event that the monitor has any faults and I need to return it, the return postage is going to outweigh the small savings here. If it were ~$250 + free postage + free exchange for hardware faults, then I would jump right on it.

    • yeah …too often the theoretical and maths looks great but the practically doesn’t …..

  • -1

    So this isn’t 144 hz?

    • Checks here

As an added bonus, these panels are known to run higher than their rated 60Hz refresh rate without any argument. People have reported 84Hz as the upper limit - mine are happily running at 80Hz.

  • Hi all.

Is it good enough for photo editing as well?

  • +2

what a good idea to change address to USA and get the 15% off, got a heaps of stuff, works like a charm. Well done!

    Thanks for the tip OP!
