did u price scan it or just look?

    • +1

Sorry to see that it's not discounted over your way; Calmerancer has a point - sometimes stores forget to post up their tickets so it might be an idea to get a price check or you could show them the picture from this post to see if they will honour the price.

      • Sorry mates, was passing through and took a quick look. Wasn’t labelled, and didn’t have time to join the long queue. Perhaps someone else can verify.

    • +7

pretty sure its the same across all CWH stores
most probably a missed ticket. computer should scan as that price across all cwh
this item is marked for clearance,
its either getting deranged or replaced with something else

      source: i work at cwh

      • Finally happy to see someone work for CW as member of ozb

    • I can't believe you, imma double check and update tomorrow

    Well spotted OP.

    Can someone confirm other stores?

  • Not this price at the store I went to in NSW.

    • NSW is big can be little more specific?

    $27.99 at Chermside

Was it the au/nz one.? Or did u check the USA/au/nz or uk/au/nz one coz it's a diff product

  • +1

Surge Protected: 175j = nothing at all.
You can ignore the "surge protected" bit
Still an OK deal for a brand name usb - cheers OP

Scanned normal price at Norwood, SA.

    • Tried all the different varients.

They don't even carry those products at main Hurstville store.

Not a travel adapter either so not much use, imagine it's discontinued.

    • +1

It comes with a travel adapter as well. I searched my local store several times and didn't find them, but a staff member was able to point them out. The pricing definitely seems store specific based on comments though.

  • +1

Not this pricing in Coburg or Essendon.

  • Reckon the USB on this would work well for a Raspberry Pi 3 power source?

    • +1

Works great on my RPi2 running Plex (sorry, mistyped my last message and said RPi3). It even has a blue LED between the two USB ports (surge protection status indicator I presume).

Make sure you use a good quality USB cable, such as Tronsmart MUPP1, otherwise you will get that lightning bolt icon in the top right of the screen. This indicates that you have an undervoltage problem which is most likely going to be caused by the USB cable.

Just had a look at official Raspberry Pi site and they recommend 2.5A (https://www.raspberrypi.org/documentation/hardware/raspberry…).

  • To clear things up, this adaptor doesn't have any international fittings or add-ons. Original price would have been $22.99 (the pictured sale ticket with $5 on it states "save $17.99"), so the comment above saying it is $27.99 is for a different product.

Also check the barcode. It is 9312794990018 as this is the AU/NZ adapter and not the USA/au/nz or UK/au/nz one as Calmerancer has pointed out above. You could possibly have the sales people search for the item based on barcode instead of doing a visual check for the item.

Happy hunting and hopefully most of you will have success tracking these down.

    Definitely $5 across Australia.

Decent amount of stock around since most stores got split 3-6 units when they came out but they barely sold.

    Doncaster have around 10.

    Most others 2-5.

Got one from Malvern Vic. Thanks OP. Make sure you check the model and make sure it’s the correct one. This one original price is $22.99. Not the $27.99 one.

Went to a local CW and it scanned as full price, my son dropped in to one a couple of K's away and it was $5 and advertised as such on the shelf so he picked one up for me.

Edit: I think Hahnski was spot on (above a few of posts)and I suspect that is the reason for the issue I had.

  • picked up the last one for $5 at the CWH at Maroubra. thanks OP.

  • The chemist at Fyshwick (Canberra) had them marked at $12-something so I had it scanned and it scanned at $5. So it pays to check.

  • I wonder if this medication will cure my sore throat?
