Ah, more reasons to get the iPhone X, got it.

      /s

        New age parenting manual 101.

Kids get iphone X and a macbook pro.

Anything less and you should be reported to DOCS for cruelty to a child.

Aaaah but maybe they should make new friends with Ozbargain-kids.

Great price but it seems to have only 0.5Gb RAM.

    • +3

1gb, and huawei has optimised it quite well

      • +1

    Macquarie NSW - Limited stock
    Bondi NSW - Limited stock

    • Yes, for $50! Useless for unlocking this phone for $50

  • +1

This is an insane price, considering what others are selling it for.

  • +2

This should be the standard price for every telephone.

    • +2

Same with cars, houses and everything else that costs more than this.

  • B28 - ok

    • +1

Thanks for checking and commenting that band 28 is supported and approved by you, I must have missed it while I read through the supported bands…..

      • He still supports Metallica too

        • Faith No More made a comeback.

      • +2

always a pleasure to help forskin, as you may know Band 28 comes up a lot as a question with unlocked phones and many look for it as its needed for for Telstra, so its always good when its available on a cheaper phone as it improves compatibility.

Great phone for the money (if actually available). BTW CPU is 1.3GHz, not 1.1.

    • Fixed, thanks.

  • cant seem to find stock in Melbourne

  • Don't think there's any stock, Melbourne postcode showing no stock for 12 stores.

Shame about there being no stock.

  • No stocking showing in any of the WA, SA or NT stores.

The Chinese can keep an eye on your kids, so you don't have to. Thanks China.

    • +2

      Instead of Google or Apple

      • +2

Google and the Chinese are keeping an eye on the kids. :)

  • No stock in ACT either.

  • +1

Many upvotes for price but pointless if there's no stock anywhere

Limited stock near me, worth a look thanks.

  • +5

I want to upvote due to the price, but due to the massively low stock I can't bring myself to.

That being said, thanks for the effort OP, decent deal for anyone who finds one.

  • +4

Upvoting because Ozbargain is about helping others find bargains, for those who managed to snag one, congrats!

    • Who snagged one?

      • +1

        Here.
Launceston (Brisbane St) is the only Tas store with limited stock currently.

        Back cover flimsiest I've experienced

If the similar vintage (2016) Alcatel Pop4 was $29 I'd much prefer that. It has notification LED, Android 6 and feels more robust.

        • Well done!

          Should have been:

for those the one lucky punter who managed to snag one, congrats!

        • @tranter:
Cheers, and one last thing from me.

At my Target, there was a shelf below the Y6 that had the tag (no stock) of a Samsung Galaxy J for $29. Not 100% on the name though. There was also what appeared to be a 4" Alcatel for $29.

Normally, I'd expect a pic of the Vodafone pre-paid section here (as should you). The ancient phone that was in my pocket being 2MP and sans flash, I only carry it for outdoor use.

Point is, there be potential clearance deals. If you have time, wonder in for a look.

  • +2

Upvote because my younger brother has this phone and while it cost $89 when it was bought it also had a promo with $50 EFTPOS card and the $40 some starter kit.

It's an alright phone - he doesn't hide it away from his friends lol.

    • The problem is when kids brag to their friends they're getting The new iPhone, when their parents said they are getting a "new" (new to the family and not a hand-me-down, but some people may include something from the pawn shop as "new") iPhone.

      • +4

Well it kind of looks like an iPhone lol. His friends have got an iPhone 4S and an iPhone 5 so he's definitely not complaining or saying he wants one lol

No sane parent would fork out $1000+ on a phone for their child not knowing if it will even come home with them - amount of things kids lose..

        • +2

It's number of things kids lose, not amount.

Sorry, the JV in me broke free.

    • +2

It's sad when someone has to hide a phone because of peer pressure. How many primary school kids have a $1500 phone?

  • +1

    Macquarie has limited stock (NSW)

    • Been there and the lady at the cashier looked and told me its sold out.

  • Does anyone know if using a Kogan sim (uses Voda network) would work with this phone?

    • +2

Have this phone and can can confirm Kogan works.

    • Yes kogan works for me too.

    • +2

      Phone is fine.

  • A bit less useful with the expensive unlocking fee.

  • Looks like there's limited stock

In other words stay at home and save yourselves the trouble.

  • Called Target customer service this morning - 1300 753 567 and they advised me this - mobiles are old stock and no stock in Victoria
Anyone in the other states - please call the customer service & check if there is any in your state.

  • +1

Confirmed. No Stock in NSW even its says limited stock (48 hrs old stats - Thats was customer support said)

  • The last one at Launceston (Bris-Charles) was sold today.
    :)
