I have the Spot (got it as a gift). Bit creepy with the camera but allegedly you can turn it off.
Any good? I was looking for a SMART bedside clock but heard even in dimmest mode it is still quite bright?
I moved ours into the lounge. It is still quite bright on the bedside table. Just use the dot for the bedroom .. still sets alarms and you can just ask it the time.
until they release a version with a OLED screen, it wont be any good as an alarm clock, way too bright.
I have 4 spots, they're awesome. They dim at night time, and one of the themes I use turns the clock red for a super dim night time clock. It's not bright at night all.
its not bright if u don't turn off the camera, as the camera acts as a brightness sensor.
@hopper: there is a dedicated ambient light sensor adjacent to the camera. Same as you would find on iPhone front camera.
Same. The 'black back with red hands' is brilliant at night and the light from my PIR sensor on my alarm is much much brighter. I need a dark room to sleep and this is no problems.
Used with an auto setting and it goes to 'night' mode around 9pm and kicks back to normal in the morning.
The Spot is my favourite Alexa. Sound is surprisingly good, and the display really adds a lot to flash briefings and random music. Mics seem to be the best of my Echos too.
Motos are such good phones for those prices. Just had an Apple for life mate grab a G5S and loves it.
G5s Plus better or Redmi Note 5 Global ?
No idea. I like Moto as I can get easy Aus warranty coverage, no Chinese complications and has a UI almost identical to stock Android.

The bigger screen is nice, the dual camera is nothing special. Worth it if you can deal with the added dimensions.
G5S has Snapdragon 430 vs G5S Plus has Snapdragon 625
G5S has 5.2" screen vs G5S Plus has 5.5" screen
G5S has single 16MP camera vs G5S Plus has dual 13MP camera
These are the main differences. G5S Plus is worth the extra $40 I reckon.
