You ain't that poor if you can afford a TV.

I watch my neighbour's TV over the fence, also use his unsecured WiFi.

        • +8

          @TightBottom:

It doesn't matter does it. This is simply a bargain hunter website not some incorparate company. We benefit by people like TA contributing. Why the need to complicate and discourge people from sharing.

        • +4

@TightBottom: personally, I'm okay with the question being asked… the first time, but not sure how slow you'd have to be to ask this as many times as you have.

Everyone should be questioned, but TA has answered this one. Move on with your life.

          @kiriakoz:

All my previous comments implied financial reward. This is different. The community has spoken so I will move on.

    • +27

I think you're just upset that he got the name Tightarse first and you had to settle for a tight bottom.

      • +3

That name was available when I joined but chose to leave it to someone who would do the name justice. And worthy TA is.

      • +1

TightBottom is an older member than TA.

    • -1

TA is obviously privy to eBay information either directly or indirectly through cashrewards.

That wouldn't warrant an associated tag. No different than me posting a deal from a list of coupons in a website's emailed newsletter.

      • +2

It would be if you were the only one with the coupon or got early access to the coupons for whatever reason.

        • Nope. That's not covered under what is defined as associated. The mods will explain it in response to your report I'm sure.

        • A publication that does a hands on preview of a video game or attends a preview screening of a movie is still independent of the companies creating the game/movie, exclusive access or not.

        • Agree. But if there was only one invited publication company involved and only one invited person in the movie theatre….

        • If it's a good deal, I'm happy for the heads up. Why should it matter if someone is associated or not?

        • @TightBottom:

I doubt TA is the only person in Australia to know about these deals early. I also agree that eBay know he posts the deals here early and keep feeding him the information as they enjoy the extra clicks.

So long as it stays mutually beneficial I don't have a problem with it. And I'll leave it to the mods to draw the line on 3rd party marketing.

        • +14

          @JoelWilliam: It's a tough one.

I don't know much about CR and how it's funded, but I'm assuming there's some commercial arrangement that CR has with sites like eBay in order to generate revenue.

It's clear that TA is receiving information about eBay sales in advance of the general public. The question is why that is. Presumably it has something to do with the commercial arrangement that CR has with eBay and the fact that it's mutually beneficial for both parties (eBay for extra revenue from sales and publicity on OzB and CR for assisting in generating that extra revenue and therefore validating the commercial agreement).

That being said, not everyone is going to avail themselves of the CR benefits but they may choose to buy something based on TA's posting of an eBay deal. In that circumstance, TA / CR get no benefit so there's no conflict of interest. However, if someone does use CR and purchases through eBay as a result of TA's post then that sale is producing more than just a bargain for the individual and commission for eBay.

Given how other similar deals are flagged when there's a possible relationship between the poster and the retailer, should there perhaps be a new category that draws attention to the fact that a person is an employee of a cash back service and therefore may directly or indirectly benefit from posting that deal?

Clearly the rep/associated/third party flags don't apply in this case but the fact they exist in the first place seems to suggest that OzB is interested in transparency and making users of the website aware of where potential vested interests lie in deal posts.

I am not suggesting that TA is trying to be dodgy or get benefits without disclosing interests. What I want to do with this post is explain what I think TightBottom is trying to say, albeit slightly more eloquently. ;)

10/10 would smash! Easily one of the best microwaves you can get! Particularly for that price!

    • Thanks kronic, might try and get the stainless version.

    • +3

Can you share why? Need to buy a microwave myself!

    • Where is the version without the knob? On tgg site. Harvey has it. Imo without the knob looks so much better

  • Arghh, just bought washmachine & fridge yesterday at Harvey Norman =/.

Delivery in 3 weeks, any idea if I can cancel it ?

    • I just bought a washer and dryer yesterday from The Good Guys (in-store).
      Delivery in 4 days.

Would appreciate if anyone knows any way of cancelling as well.

      • I asked about this in store a couple of weeks ago and the salesperson said they do a price guarantee against that sort of thing. She didn't say how long for, but I'd guess a couple of weeks?

Talk to a store contact at destination if click and collect and they should process a refund if difference. Online told me to talk to store for ebay shipping refund, and they sorted it.

        • +1

Thank you for the info. The price guarantee excludes they eBay store.
I called the store today and they are willing to do a full refund for "change of mind".

Just gonna have to make sure there is not jacking up of prices / out of stock on their eBay store tomorrow!

        • @Avolette:
Just check whether it's actual refund or store voucher.

    • What credit card did you use to pay for it? Some of them have 'price match' insurance

    any macbooks?

  • Just curious if anyone here have the LG Cordzero I am interested, I tried to find reviews online but couldn't find any…. thanks..

    • +1

I am considering this as well, here is a review I found useful. I also found out that Koreans love this vaccum, apparently has a large percentage of market. Tried it at JB and I prefer it over Dyson or Samsung handheld.

      • I had poor product service with Dyson, they are expensive junks, hence I am considering the LG vacuums. I am no in rush, but will wait for a big sale of LG vacuums.

        • +3

wife bought one on the last good guys ebay sale. So much better than a dyson if you asked me plus extra battery and a stand. We bought the pro one which had the extra bedding nozzle. Good deal if you ask me as LG is also giving out 5 extra heads if you bought one until August.

        • @Exopius:

Thanks man, I will keep an eye in the future
