      not really. saw some in jbhi yesterday 159.

      • Umm..20% off $168 is $134?! *Shipping costs not included.

    • I got my BeatsX on Kogan for far less. $140 at the time from memory, plus a few extra discounts like the eBay vouchers bringing them closer to $100.

      They are now $159 on Kogan so $168 is not a bad price if you can C&C to save on postage but I'd keep an eye out for some Kogan deals.

  • we will all know about it..when everyone posts the bargains

    do TGG have a history of price jacking before a sale?

    • +3

      Yes, they do, despite their guarantee. I'm still fighting with them to get the difference back on the dishwasher I bought during the last 20% off sale.

      • How's that going for you? I have a credit card that offers price difference, but not sure if applicable.

        • I think the case is in my favour because the dishwasher I bought had clearly not been on the catalogue. They shifted their position on Friday away from being denial. Hopefully I'll get the difference back by the end of the week or I'll take it up to eBay/Paypal if not ACCC.

  • Got the S9 from the previous eBay deal for $799 but not too happy about the size. Hopefully I can get the S9 Plus tmr at a discount

    • +2

      You bought something for $800 you did zero research on. Wow.

  • any dishwasher ?

  • Would any techier home audio type people mind giving me some advice on soundbars? I'm just wondering if there's a realistic difference between a 200w and 300w soundbar. Don't need anything ground-rumbling but don't want it to be a piece of crud either (for reference, this old LG wired system is my current one that sounds good enough for me).

    Looking at the Samsung HW-M360 and the Panasonic SC-HTB688GNK but after discount there'll be a $120 difference between the two.

    • have no idea what either of them are like, but typically W doesn't matter. unfortunately speakers are complex enough that simply reading specs isn't enough, recommendation is always to listen to both yourself. other option is to find the same person/people that review both and trust in their ears, but people have different hearing preferences so even that's not fool proof.

      • Thank you, that makes sense. Will try to get an in-store demo.

    • If they dont price jack tomorrow, get the Yamaha YAS-107 for $160 c&c, I cant personally comment on the quality but it seems to be well reviewed for the price

      • It does seem to rate well indeed. Surely something with a stand alone sub would be better though, or am i thinking too old school here?

        • You can invest in a stand alone sub of your choice & plug it in to the YAS so that's why I prefer the 107 over the 207. I'd say listen w.o the sub, then if you need, get the sub.

        • @lordra: Cheers, is the main difference between the 107 & 207 the inclusion of a sub? Perhaps i'll need to compare the two and see if it's worth double the price :/

    Free $20 voucher doesn't work on Ebay I take it? :/

  • Cool for the 1st weekof financial year. 20% off ;);).

  • About to get a washing machine. Seems like combining this would make a good time to get it!

  • Any good recommendations for fridge/washing machine for a 2bdr apartment?

    • You're best to do your research. If you can afford it then perhaps a combo washer/dryer to help save on space, otherwise German made Bosch's are great (tho I think they are 8kg so the size might be a problem)

  • Any Recommendation for a good Slow Cook? I haven't own one so would love to get one to make soup.

    • Cant go wrong with a Russell Hobbs or Kambrook one. 3L size should be ok for soup, but if you feel like you'd want to cook more than soup, a 6L one would be a better choice. Some 6L ones work out cheaper than the 3L ones anyway.
      (Have a Russell Hobbs RHSC600 6L, and its been going good for years!)

    It's interesting that one item I'm interested in is not available for C&C on their eBay site, yet it is showing as available for pick-up on the main TGG website.

    • +1

      The $50 delivery charge on a $500 product makes up 10%. Effectively it's a 10% discount for most people. And TGG know it.

      • Just pick it up from the store, they'll load it onto your trailer for you.

    • They don't link well together. Place the order online, call the webmaster & email them on ebay, call the store & let them know. THey will refund the shipping & you can pick up in store for free.

      • Just tried this and my store said that if it comes through as eBay with delivery their policy is that it has to be sent delivery, so I ended up just cancelling. Sent a couple messages on eBay, one a few days ago asking if stock would sync in time so I can order, no response. Mind you, my store is small enough that I'm probably one of few to try to do this, but pretty annoying that since it's "out of stock" on eBay it has to be sent by courier a whole 10kms.

  • I found a couple of items that would be good deals with the 20% off e.g. Moto G5s Plus, Bosch washing machines (mine died last week and I purchased from AO already boo!). Are we suppose to post separate deals for things or is there a way to link it all to this thread?

    • All deals with the P20GOOD code will appear in the related tab.

  • How do people go about choosing the premium delivery when buying on ebay? Need to remove old appliance.

    • Call the store & pay the difference on the phone or on delivery.

  • Was looking for coffee machine. Fingercross they don't price jack.

  • +2

    For anyone looking at buying something, please note 3/4 current catalogues end tonight so pricing might not be a good indicator of what it will be tomorrow. This means pricing will go up or down, it really depends on the catalogue.

    So it's highly recommended to check tomorrow instead of making a decision right now, pricing might also change during the promo as well.

    Essentially, the good guys don't price jack, the pricing just goes alongside catalogues

    • +2

      Essentially, the good guys don't price jack, the pricing just goes alongside catalogues

      That is not true. They increased prices on some non-catalogue items 3-4 days prior to the last 20% sale. Check the comments.

      • +1

        Using your dishwasher example, you can see here that price moves around a ton, that's not targeted price jacking. It went back to $799 as it wasn't on sale, and now it's back to $658 and catalogue pricing ends tonight.

        • -1

          That's funny. Why would a dishwasher be priced like Qantas shares? Could it not be a tactic TGG takes to counter any price jacking accusation? Anyway, that's irrelevant because any price increase of any non-catalogue item within 7 days is clearly a breach of their own "no price jack" guarantee, which states:

          "Discounts apply to current listed eBay prices. The Good Guys will not increase the eBay price of any product that is part of the promotion on The Good Guys' eBay store from 7 days before the promotion until it finishes, unless the price increase occurs at the end of previously advertised promotional activity in catalogues or supplier-funded promotions."

          When I confronted TGG about this, they insisted the product was on their catalogue but clearly it wasn't.

        • @mun4:

          unless the price increase occurs at the end of previously advertised promotional activity in catalogues or supplier-funded promotions.

          Exactly, the promotion/catalogue is ending tonight.

        • @doweyy: Read my post again. I've been talking about non-catalogue items. If you insist that I'm making a false accusation, show me how the SMS40E08AU was on the catalogue (I have the catalogues from the past 6 months).

        • @doweyy: FYI, I've collected dozens of non-catalogue items that were price jacked at the last 20% sale. Here's a few:

          Fisher & Paykel DW60FC6X1 60cm Stainless Steel Dishwasher ($849 -> $876)
          Westinghouse WSF6606X Stainless Steel Freestanding Dishwasher ($648 -> $659)
          Hisense HR6TFF350 350L Top Mount Refrigerator ($625 -> 649)

        • +2

          @mun4:

          If you want to play this game, I can play it also.

          Fisher & Paykel DW60FC6X1 60cm Stainless Steel Dishwasher ($849 -> $879). It was $696 in February.

          Westinghouse WSF6606X Stainless Steel Freestanding Dishwasher ($648 -> $659) $550 in February.

          Hisense HR6TFF350 350L Top Mount Refrigerator ($625 -> 649) $533 in March.

          Using your logic, these have all been priced jacked during this year. Pricing moves, it's a fact of retail. You can clearly see the trend of up & down, and quite a spread which isn't linked to eBay sales whatsoever.

          If you actually look at the product pages, it says "As Advertised price ends 01 July 2018". It would have said the exact same thing before the last sale. So yes, they're catalogue items and follow the exact wording as per the eBay T&C's.

        • @doweyy:

          I don't see your point. Firstly, save yourself from digging up those pricehipster prices because they don't reflect TGG eBay ones. Secondly, DW60FC6X1 (a non-catalogue product) was $849 on Jun 12 and increased to $876 on Jun 13 on eBay, but the last 20% sale started 4 days later on Jun 16. DW60FC6X1 wasn't on the catalogue on Jun 12, so it wasn't part of any "previously advertised promotional activity in catalogues".

          The page could say "As advertised" all they want, but as far as that excerpt of guarantee goes, between Jun 9 and Jun 16 (7 days before the last promotion), there were price increases to non-catalogue products on TGG eBay.

        • -1

          @mun4:

          The pricing does follow Price Hipster lol, I'm not sure what you're talking about. Follow the trend and you'll see. Here's an example: AU $876.00 1 16-Jun-18 13:27:21 AEST, Price Hipster changed to $876 on 14/6. AU $799.00 1 30-Apr-18 08:53:43 AEST, price went live 19/4.

          They would have been in the catalogues.If you look here on the bottom right, the Westinghouse WSF6606X is clearly shown as $659.

          Not every product is "As Advertised" on their website, so that is clear proof that if it does say that, then it's part of a catalogue. I don't have access to previous catalogues like you do, but from what I can see right now, those products would definitely have been advertised, even if they were slightly hidden.

          When Myer runs 20% off, they sometimes also do Super Weekend sales. Sometimes they run 10% off Bose which coincides with 20% off eBay, sometimes it doesn't coincide. Using your logic they're "price jacking" for not running a promotion? I don't think so.

        • +1

          @doweyy:

          The pricing does follow Price Hipster lol

          No, it doesn't. DW60FC6X1 was $879 on Jun 19 and not $849 as pricehipster shows.

          the Westinghouse WSF6606X is clearly shown as $659.

          No. WSF6606X was $648 on Jun 11 and went up to $659 on Jun 12 - 4 days before promo.

          Not every product is "As Advertised" on their website, so that is clear proof that if it does say that, then it's part of a catalogue.

          How is that even relevant, let alone a proof? I've only skimmed over the latest few catalogues, but I don't see SMS40E08AU or SMS66MW01A in them.

          Using your logic

          My logic is simple: Read TGG's guarantee. Observe how TGG change some prices on non-catalogue items within 7 days before promo. Breach.

          When Myer runs 20% off

          I'm just talking about TGG's price changes and their guarantee. I haven't bought from Myers in years. But if Myer run that 10% off Bose and no one knows about and don't call it a sale or promo or conflict with their guarantee, then yes, that's price jacking in my books.

          They would have been in the catalogues

          That's what I used to believe until I started scraping their catalogues.

    I just bought something from goodguys today for $500…
    I'd have been able to buy it for $400 tomorrow instead using this deal.

    Can I contact the store and ask them to refund me $100 for this blasphemy?

    • You have my approval

    • +1

      Can I contact the store and ask them to refund me $100 for this blasphemy?

      No you can't, the store has nothing to do with the promotion and would you pay more if the price went up the day after your purchased?

    • Definitely they will pay you 120% of the difference as a price beat and that includes their own. They refunded me for a vacuum that i bought and few days later it was on sale.

      • Does this work if I bought on their eBay store the other day using 10% off eBay coupon? I'd now be able to get 20% off if I waited.

      • That policy excludes eBay

  • does the good guys ebay has price guaranty?

    • No

    • To be eligible, customers must purchase an eligible Samsung Galaxy S9 and S9+ as listed below
      (‘Product’) on sale between 31 May 2018 to 1 July 2018 inclusive (“Promotion Period”).

      Tomorrow would be 2 July unfortunately

  • Is delivery subject to the 20% off as well?

    I just bought a dishwasher from appliancesonline via the eBay US 15% off deal yesterday, waiting for delivery on 11-7-18. If the delivery from TGG is not subject to the 20% discount than basically the price difference is just $1. If the delivery is subject to the 20% discount then the difference is $11.

    However appliancesonline can remove my old dishwasher and the new packaging. But I can simply hard junk my old dishwasher if I buy from TGG.

    • 20% off does not apply to delivery

  • +2

    Here we go again - no eBay pickup stock, but plenty on their site.

    • I saw that too for a couple items I'm keen on.

    • Agree, every single top load washing machine is 'Out of stock' on ebay site/local pickup. Called the store this morning and… EVERY single machine I was looking at is in stock with excess out back.

  • How's this laptop for $800 (and 7-8% further potential discount if I use eBay e-gift cards to make the payment)?: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/NEW-Acer-NX-GVRSA-003-Aspire-5-1…

      Hi I'm a microwave

    • As am I. 5 mins of google search suggests SHARP are decent quality. It will pay to check online prices as the one I am looking at (R395EST) is ~$30 cheaper from appliance online than the discounted TGG price.

  • does the code work on that $153 note 8 i've been eyeing?

  • Will officeworks beat the price after coupon applied?

      As mentioned before their catalogue sale finished last night but still disappointing

    • Still $199 on bing lee ebay site - search listing shows YAS-107, but within product page it shows YAS-107B.

      Is $199 a good price for the 107B?

      • $180 delivered after 10% off and free shipping with eBay plus. I decided to go for it as i'm impatient.
