Chinese Garden open day

To celebrate Chinese New Year, the Chinese Garden will be free to enter for one special day.

Please be aware that due to the number of visitors expected, there may a short wait to enter. Last entry 5pm.

Sun 6 Feb
9.30am - 5.30pm
Admission free (Normal price is $6/person)

You could also enjoy the Twilight Parade from Town Hall to Chinatown, followed by fireworks at Cockle Bay to cap off the evening in a spectacular fashion.

      Not sure, but this is what is posted as the prices on the darling harbour site:

      Admission prices
      Adults $6
      Children (under 12 yrs) $3
      Family (2 adults & 2 children) $15
      Concession (Australian pensioners and students only) $3
      Audio Tour (English and Mandarin) $4

      Not sure if the free entry deal includes the audio tour though.

      since always, as far as I can remember, which is more than 15-20 yrs ago.

      • I've been there twice and it was free. I don't remember, what decade I went there last though, either 80s or 90s?

          Late 80's IIRC was free, possibly when it opened for the bicentenary…not sure when they introduced the fee but it was quite a few years ago! ;)

  • I went a bit over a year ago and there was an admission fee then.
