I have two of the soaker hoses and have been great.

Yep, they are fantastic for establishing new lawns. I bought four of them a few years ago along with a couple of hose fittings with built-in valves. I put the fittings onto the ends of two of the soaker hoses and was then able to run single lengths or clip them together to double the length! Perfect for long skinny watering tasks eg. down the sides between the house & fence. Have since moved but yeah worked a treat but you need to be careful as they're easy to forget about and can guzzle water BIG time.

Yeah, I’ve got both connected running front to back down the side of the house in the garden. I’ve got it connected to an Aldi tap timer so I don’t forget to turn on / off. One tip is to turn the soaker upside down, that way it can be turned up high and not waste water - works for my situation.

These soaker hoses are crap. I've had 2 in the last few months and both have burst/split within a few uses (thankfully bunnings are good with returns). I'm not sure if the more expensive ones are better, as I'm off soaker hoses now…

edit: seeing the comment above makes me think I'm using soaker hoses wrong somehow.

    • Yeah, maybe too much pressure? I used to only run the tap at about a quarter max otherwise they'd just produce too much mist. Had to open it up a bit further when I joined two together of course but still usually well under half.

      • Yeah, possibly. Both times was using my front tap (higher pressure - closer to water meter) and probably fully open. Happy just using the oscillating sprinkler instead and reducing the oscillating width for skinny areas. Heard they're actually better for deep penetration anyway as the soakers lose a lot more to evaporation before it lands.

  • Can you join two 7.5m soaker hoses to form a 15m long hose?

    • Yep, as per my comment above. You'll need to DIY it and use a hose connector with a built-in stop valve but not difficult or expensive. One of these and a Coupler is exactly what I used.

  • Don't you use a pressure cleaner on tough, hard-to-shift stuff? Why couple that with a soft, gentle brush? I'm confused.

Thanks op! The brush will go well with my K4 premium
