What is with the bias for Ben Sherman on here? There's much better Harringtons available and at better prices.

      Please link your suggestions mkza99

From Zhenjie's and other reviews on the linked thread the quality, material, and unique lining of this jacket made it popular.

      • UNIQLO and Everlane for starters. Both more in-line with modern minimalistic trends, cheaper and better quality.

I actually bought one after zhenjie raved about it. Don't see anything great about it. However maybe because it was navy. Maybe sand is better?

    • I agree - was ok for the discounted price of $67 I paid, but feels cheap compared to the Sportscraft one I have.

Also received an email from Ben Sherman saying they rejected my 3/5 star review because it "did not meet our review guidelines"- looking up those guidelines I guess they didn't like me saying what I said above - mentioning a competitor's name and the effectively the price paid.

So I will re-review based on the 'normal' price and suggest it's worth about $70.

  • Is it made in China?

    • Probably is, I'll check and let you know

      • They used to be made in Ireland..
        NOW-made in China

        • Bought one recently but had to return as I bought too small size. Ben Sherman has an easy and free return process which is a big positive.
My take is that the quality was ok and it is cotton. But the outer layer and inner lining didn't seem very thick and I doubted it would actually keep me warm.
In the end I didn't bother buying a new one in my correct size because of the above.

  • I have navy and it looks pretty cool, getting sand now, thanks OP

    Any comparison to uni qlo?

  • Just wondering what age group are these targeted at.

Also wondering if dry clean only is a deal breaker?

    • 50+

    • Judging by the size chart, middle age men. Even the XS is too big for me, the waist is like 5" too big.

      • Confused now
The model looks nothing close to 50+/ middle aged

  • I have a sand jacket. Can't wear it because it almost matches my skin tone. It looks like I'm wearing someone's skin. Given to me as a gift, so I've only ever worn it twice or something.

    • I'll give you $20 for it

      • I know for sure I'll never ever wear it again, but it has sentimental value. As you can probably guess, I have loads of crap at home I don't get rid of.

Received my jacket today - Ordered a medium and perfect fit for me - 173cm tall, 32" waist, 82kg medium build

Although I was a bit upset finding out that it is made in China, I am very pleased with the jacket and the overall quality.

  • Received mine a few days ago. Been wearing it over this cool Brisbane weekend.

Fits quite well on me - 166cm, 32 waist, 40 chest, 73kg medium build. Slightly looser than I'd like, especially around the waist. By comparison, I have a superdry harrington Longhorn Sand) that is a slimmer fit (though in the L size, which is typical need for upsize for superdry).

The superdry material quality also feels slightly better.

Overall, happy with purchase for the price I paid (I got free delivery as a club catch member). Anything more and it wouldn't be worht it imo.
