What is Quick Charge 3.0 and VoltIQ?

Qualcomm's Quick Charge 3.0 technology is 4x faster than conventional charging and up to 40% quicker than Quick Charge 2.0. It typically charges a compatible device from 0% to 80% in 35 minutes. It achieves this by increasing the voltage from 3.6V to 20V with 200mV increments. This technology is backwards compatible with Quick Charge 2.0 and Samsung AFC which is capable of charging a 3500mAh battery from 0% to 60% in 30 minutes.

VoltIQ charges up to 5V/2.4A for devices that are not using QC technology.

    Rep, any cable packs? 1.8m?

      Micro USB or USB-C?

Tronsmart released new Micro USB cable packs that I should be able to get a coupon on.

          USB C to C or USB A to C?

        • +1

          @Clear:

          A to C please

          @overlook:

Which do people prefer tronsmart or blitzwolf? I have both. Interested in peoples thoughts

        • +2

@livo81: For Cables, I prefer Blitzwolf. For Charger, I prefer Tronsmart.

I've had multiple Tronsmart Cables stopped working after a while. Blitzwolf Ampcore Range are my go-to cables now.

          @RichardL:

I've asked for a blitzwolf deal and apparently Monday it's going to happen

At least these guys don't charge Gerry Harvey tax like Zapals.

I have two of these (one for my partner) that i got about 4 months a ago, both have been really good so far.

    • 40 y/o, and never been charged with anything.

Whatever turns them on, i s’pose.

  • Hey rep. Do tronsmart still make the 4 port chargers?

    • +1

Only for QC2 and that's discontinued. Hopefully they will for next gen QC.

      • Would be happy with a QC2 one. Do you guys sell them?

  • may need + GST

    • +1

Nope. There is no GST being charged.

      • good to know,thx

  • Thanks, got one. Been wanting a quick charger for the car.

  • Looks like the the attached Type-C cable is not replaceable?

    • +1

      Correct.

    • +1

attached Type-C cable is not replaceable?

That's right, as it is attached.

      • I think for myself and many others the cable being attached ( hard wired in ) could be a plus, as often the female USB input is a weak spot in chargers.

Especially in cars where the wire can get a bit knocked or pulled one direction making a lose or even non contact/connection.

I have never used one of these Yet, but using common sense, will give this one a try, thanks OP.

  • Are both ports QC?

    • No just the full sized USB port.

  • will this do supercharge on Huawei phones?

    • No.

      • +1

Sorry, this may be a repeat of dys88's query but I want to be sure.

Will this charger work for a Huawei Nexus 6P for normal charging? (I'm assuming this supercharge business is an additional feature for some phones…yeah, I'm not educated on this stuff).
        Thanks :)

        • +3

Yes it will work fine for normal non-SuperCharge charging.

  • Would this be effective at charging a Nintendo Switch? Might help those long car journeys for the kids.

    • Perhaps looking for a USB-PD type C charger will work better

  • My last one failed the C Port FYI but I know this is different. Lasted 2 weeks.

    • What brand and model was your last one that broke after two weeks, as you say this is different?

      • It was different in the sense that it had a USB port, and a C port. But it was a Tronsmart as well, if it was a different brand my post would hold no relevance at all.

I just think from my experience the quality of these might be pretty average.

I did buy this one too though, even though I had a Tronsmart 5x USB port fail the QC port as well once.. (240v)

  • EXPIRED. COUPON LIMIT REACHED.

  • I don't see how this is a deal. You can get a proper USB-PD + QC 3.0 charger for less, EG https://www.gearbest.com/chargers-cables/pp_1826915.html for AUD 11.17. OP's charger can only do 5V at the USB-C port, which means it wont work for laptops / nintendo switch, etc. For that, you need USB-PD

    • It's not cheaper once you factor in the shipping cost as Gearbest do not offer free shipping for low value products. Infact you could get this Geek deal cheaper by using CR or SB.

      • I apologise for not including shipping. With shipping from GB is $13.09 which is more expensive. But you get a lot more for your dollar IMO.

        • At least yours isn't "Coupon Limit Reached" though. So I'll be buying from Gearbest.

  • Hmm this doesnt seem to work on my old Honda CRV, is it just incompatible or something?
