Unbelievable price for Etihad return to Europe for Christmas/NY! From Madrid you can get very cheap return flights anywhere in Europe/Northern Africa (eg Morocco for $120 return, Sicily for $150 return etc) as there are many budget airlines flying from Madrid (RyanAir, AirNostrum, EasyJet, Air Arabia Moroco).

So would be a perfect price for your Christmas/NY European Holidays! EASTER 2019 ALSO AVAILABLE!

I've managed to purchase 2 tickets from 21/12 to 04/01 for this price by price matching with Flight Centre, so the deal is definitely correct and will be honored. Also checked with Etihad and they confirmed and allocated seats for us as per my selection.

Good Luck!

Feel free to ask if you need any clarification or assistance with booking as I already booked tickets for myself

  • Great deal mate, hopefully the " domestic" fares are not high as it's Christmas!?

  • +1

Hi mate, not at all, I booked Madrid - Ouarzazate (Morocco) Casablanca - Sicily - Madrid tickets for these dates for $350 including baggage. Could be even cheaper if you are flexible with dates and cities

    • Have you been to Morrocco? What's it like?

      • +1

Never been there, but there are plenty of interesting reviews. Will be renting a car from Ouarzazate to Casablanca for 4,5 days and going to cover 1600km to see Merzouga, Fes, Volubilis, Chefchaouen, Asilah, Rabat and Casablanca

Spent 9 days in Morocco going clockwise from Casablanca and finishing up in Marrakech … You don't need a night in Casablanca.. spend at least 3 days in Chefchaouen … Stayed in riads … The hospitality, food and decor are amazing .. the overnight camel ride camping trip with the Berbers is a must do … Essaouira is worth a visit too

        • @orbital: Agree with limiting your time in Casablanca. The only thing my wife and I enjoyed visiting is the Hassan II Mosque. We really liked Fez. Less touristy than Marrakech and therefore less harrassing from the shops/touts.

        • I don't intend to stay in Casablanca, will be only flying out from there and are going to spend 1-2 hours for the Hasan Mosque. Plenty of places to visit in less than 5 days! Thanks for your kind advises

        • i done Marrakech return drive via Fes, Rabat and Casablanca. Casablanca was a bit disappointed, but Fes was really great - stay a night there. Lots of interesting places on the way - but warning: at least double the estimated google maps times… we found it calculated based on KMH limits, but the roads can be much much slower…

Plenty of sub $100 flights from Madrid (Tangier $65, Italy $60 etc) for these dates

I think you're underselling Madrid. The nightlife, the food, Museo del Prado…

This is where we are going to celebrate New Year!

Madrid is a good destination, spent a few days there few years ago, grand boulevards, impressive old buildings, plenty shopping, daytrip to Toledo a highlight… don't mind revisiting! I love Spain.

        • +1

We've been there plenty of times when we lived in Europe, but are going again to spend several days in Spain (Madrid-Granada-Seville-Toledo).

        The patatas bravas…

Other dates available guys, just booked 18/04-27/04..

    • Easter there! Great! Warmer weather too.

    • +1

17/04-27/04 is 9 nights also at same price.

      I am resisting.

  • What booking agent did you use on skyscanner to price match with flight centre? They normally ask for an ABN to be visible on the website somewhere. Couldn’t see one with Travel2be that came up as the cheapest.

  • +1

I used Travelgenio for my particular dates, they have ABN

    • Thanks! Did your flights say AirEuropa as the airline? Is this definitely an Etihad plane or another airline that is doing codeshare with Etihad?

      • +1

It's my pleasure! It is definitely operated by Etihad and I spoke to Etihad representative to allocate seats for us in the plane. My understanding is that Air Europa only sells several seats doing codeshare with Etihad and this is where you can profit a lot from the difference in price

        • I have also booked these flights. How soon before your flight did you contact Etihad to allocate seats.

And did you book via a third party website?

        • @benwastaken:

I called Etihad 2-3 days after I made a booking to allocate seats for us. For the actual reservation, as usually, I called Flight Centre to price match to avoid paying credit card fees. Hope it helps. Cheers

  • there is an AMEX offer on Etihad where you spend more than $1500 and get $200 back. Must book before 7th Aug 2018.

    • +2

True, but Etihad price was about $3000 for my dates and I paid only $1230

  • I’d need 1 week min to close-asia eg. Bali, Singapore
I’d need 2 weeks min to far-Asia eg India, China
I’d need 3 weeks min to north or South America, Africa
I’d need 3/4 weeks min for Europe

    ….otherwise I wouldn’t feel I’m getting value.

    • If you get anything past Asia for under $1300 during the peak xmas dates, I think you are definitely getting value.

Some companies force you to take 8+ days of annual leave over xmas. So personally I would value my annual leave way more than the cost of this flight.

  • Voila! Sydney - Bangkok 21/12 - 05/01 $1109. Pretty short connections in Manila and full service airline. Also plenty of other fares to Bali etc for these dates:

I believe for additional $150-$200 it worth flying to Europe! Especially on Etihad

  • Nice work!! Ah fond memories of a €4 flight from Madrid to Lisbon :)

  • Another $200 needs to be added if departing from Melbourne. Bad luck!
