Razer DeathAdder Elite Chroma Gaming Mouse $85 (Was Previously $119) @ JB Hi-Fi

Good gaming mouse for a reasonable price. Have found it useful for CAD also. Beats paying $119 elsewhere.

  • This mouse (shape) was first released nearly 10 years ago and quite amazing to see it is still available.

    Not the cheapest.

I've killed 3x deathadders, one took 2 weeks. Their build quality has really really declined. Additionally, the warranty sticker at the base fails very very quickly (voids it).

    Razer used to be good.

Voiding warranty like that is illegal

      • Yeah. At least in Australia it means jack all, and most companies won't even blink twice before fixing or replacing it. I did have to fight once though :(

    • Ive still got the original deathadder, goes strong.

    • I have one from 2015 still going strong… And I'm not exactly a nice owner lol. Maybe you got a couple of duds?

      • Razer has notoriously bad quality control. So the chance that he got some duds is pretty high. But when you get a good one, then it's pretty damn good

  • My Chroma Deathadder still going strong after um… (searches emails)… OMG… December 27th 2014… when I got it for $49 from Shopping Express with free shipping. (boxing day/week sales)

  • This is not cheap at all
These were under $50 delivered on eBay a week or two back. I got mine for $47.20 delivered.
Cheaper to buy online with delivery.

    • Sure you're not thinking of the normal version? This is the chroma

      • The Deathadder Elite with full RGB

I don't believe there is a model called Elite chroma. It's just Elite as they have RGB. There is the basic, chroma or elite.

        • I think Chroma is just a newer addiiton to the name to signify that it is RGB. Previous Elite renditions also had RGB, but weren't called chroma. There's also the Expert line of the DeathAdder, but that's just single colour backlight (or maybe like 3 colours)

I would advise avoiding these. Used to be amazing (one of mine still works fine from 2011). I bought one a few months ago and failed me from day two. Umart salesman said they had been getting heaps of returns ever since they moved their manufacturing.

So what's the brand to buy now?

      • +2

I got a logitech g403 and i much preferred that over the deathadder. Rocket Jump Ninja is a guy who reviews mice i suggest looking at his top 40 list and then watching a review on one your interested in.

    • I bought one of these back in 2011-12ish, lasted a bit over a year, died. Gave it a second chance, bought a new one.. also died after about 18 months.

Also had a lycosa keyboard which was rubbish. I have heard Razer has improved a bit but I personally will steer clear of them in the future.

Cheaper elsewhere and noone actually pays 119 for these. If they do, they clearly didn't do their research.

Yep, Razer is def overpriced, their cool green LED lighting on their products are so 2001.
