  One thing that I've noticed is that many cheaper BT have really poor microphone performance when used with an iPhone 3GS. I've tried two of the BT units, the other person basically couldn't hear me at all unless I put my mouth right up to the mic….. yet the integrated bluetooth in the cars works fine with the iPhone.

  I've checked volume settings, etc - it's not that… it's almost like the iPhone is attentuating the microphone level for some reason?

  Is there something odd that makes iPhones not work properly, and how well do these units work?
