  • This is a good way to get everyone addicted to caffeine and they will come back for more.

Heading should probably read 'Spend over a thousand dollars on coffee capsules and get your own coffee machine included'

  • Guess it would be around $1000.00 but unit is worth some $500.00 plus so I still think its a good deal.

It is $399 at Harvey Norman for the "premium version" or you can get the normal version for $299

You can buy a real coffee machine for $499 - http://www.harveynorman.com.au/product/1255509334345/saeco-v…

$500 will buy a lot of coffee and the coffee is much cheaper the buying coffee in pod form

This is a good deal if you want the machine as it is covered by warranty for as long as you keep ordering the coffee pods.

There is a freight charge of $12 for the carton which is sent out to you unless you order more than 1 carton then the freight is free.

If you can afford the upfront cost then I would buy an automatic machine which grinds the coffee right before it makes the espresso as you can use fresh roasted beans from a coffee store not old stale coffee in a pod.

A single espresso capsule is only 8 grams. That works out to be $106.25/kg of coffee!
You can buy fresh coffee from a store for around $25/kg

    • Good coffee is around the $40-50/kg mark.

      • You may be getting ripped off

      • I pay less than that - but @ $25/kg, I be surprised if you can get something that you'd be happy with for terribly long.

My biggest 'gripe' with this sort of machine/offer is being tied into a specific format that you can't really work around.

Ideally, you should buy a reasonably grinder & coffee machine, choose fresh beans and learn to do it yourself.

I still do use Lavazza 'bricks' for those times that I can't get to use my own (quite nice) machines. For camping with a stove-top 'rocket', Lavazza makes a most acceptable cuppa.

I simply cannot agree with this statement enough! One of the best investments I've made in recent years is an auto machine with grinder. It just makes having good, fresh coffee so much easier…especially on hot days like we've had of late…press a button, a shot or two into a tumbler, handful of ice cubes & cold milk, et voila…iced coffee! :D

You can get these good superauto machines used off ebay for sub $200. Let someone else take the $1000 depreciation hit, while you enjoy a much nicer hit at the press of a button.

        • Do you enjoy someone elses used coffee machine though? Some people don't look after them, if they don't clean them then the flavour of coffee seriously changes.

    Hello Betamax!!!!

  • Wife has one of the office models at her work. They all forked out for the 1st batch of coffee and then have a pay as you go system - $1 a pod. The machine was replaced by the company when it required servicing. Saves them lots as they were all buying coffee from the local coffee shop at $4-$5 a coffee.
