PLUS 15% of GST and Custom duty

    • is there any effortless way to work out the GST and customs duty cost, I have never purchased an item from overseas of a value over $1000?

    • How did you arrive at 15%? Gearbest are not withholding GST (10%) either.

      • For goods imported in a consignment over A$1,000, any GST, customs duty and clearance charges will be charged to the importer at the border under existing processes.

        https://www.ato.gov.au/Business/International-tax-for-busine…

        • So if you had to send it off for repair, you would need to pay for the import tax and duty once it enters the county again?

        • Thanks, but how does one conclude 15% for this? 10% makes sense, but the ~5% is not clearly mentioned anywhere, apart from 'duty' charges.

@spriggan43: Not if you can show proof it left for warranty repairs. And best to include on the commercial invoice accompanying the goods on re-entry a remark stating it's a repair job.

        • @cyssero: More like 5% duty + 10% GST on top = 15.5%

        • @spriggan43: i think prove of prior purchase would avoid this

        • +1

@Jonski: It doesn't as you could be buying a second unit. You need proof of it leaving for warranty works.

    • Not far off.

      Value of Goods:
      2700
      Import Duty:
      135.00

      • Thanks, helpful link. It looks like they take 5% as a flat rate and reduce as required/necessary. Would be good to know how the import duty is calculated.

Don't they mark it as a $20 gift?

On a serious note. Do bangood and gearbest now collect GST on low dollar purchases? I personally hope they stick their middle finger up to our elected officials and their declared foreign allegiances.

Buy it now price: AU $2,999.99
    -AU $150.00

They are different, new black version is 7000 lumens vs 5000 lumens for the white version AVForums thread Also added a couple of reviews above.

    • Seems like that might be a better deal at barely $150 more getting the new model

No remote batteries included!! No purchase from me, lol.

  • Ultra short throw…should ideally have a tensioned screen on project onto a wall

  • i thinks you would be nuts to buy anything that costs that much from gearbest

  • if buying from china directly, it would cost you around 2200 aud (2100 for the projector, 100 for ems shipping)

  • Yeah it looks like it's running the same Chinese ui :(

    • That'd be hilarious when spending such a premium.

  • This is a really shameless seller, I have raised PayPal dispute against them.
Do not recommend to buy from them.

  • $2,525.46 from one of the many listings on eBay using 5% off code PENNY5, plus you can use Cashback and get PayPal protection. Ofcourse you will still have to pay import fees.
