  • Free returns?

    • Yes.

  • Shame about the screen res but great bang for buck.

    • Shame about the screen res

      Why? What's the problem ?

      • it is not 4K nor touch

  • Do not waste your precious time with XPS series laptops!
It's a horrible laptop plagued with issues. I used to use XPS15 9550 model. Bloated battery which they refused to fix under warranty. Various blue screen crashes. Problem after problem just kept coming. It didn't work properly with DELL docking station ($300 part!). My employer at the time had 300 XPS15 & XPS 13 laptops, paid around $3000 each. Since that debacle, they switched to Latitude.
If you want a quality laptop with decent support (Dell), get a business grade laptop like Latitude!

    • It's well documented that you have a 50/50 chance of getting either a good one, or a bad one. It's down to the luck of the draw sadly.

    • Dell is currently doing a free battery replacement for the issue you mentioned.

  • Can you charge through USB C? Looks like you can't but worth asking . Thanks

    • Yes, you can. 😊

      • where did you read it? or you tried personally? TIA

        • +1

          In their specs

Thunderbolt port with Power Delivery (USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-C)

… Supports Power Delivery that enables two-way power supply between devices. Provides up to 5V/3A power output that enables faster charging.

        • @O O: oh thanks! that was too complicated for my low IT knowledge :D

  • The 1050ti Inspiron version can be bought for $936.75 if you don't need the XPS one.

    • Link? Which model

    • Whad do you think are the main differences? looks like the screen on the gaming one is quite terrible

      • The Inspiron has a better graphics card - GTX1050(XPS) vs GTX1050TI(Inspiron) and costs $562.50 less.

        • Thanks. Do you think the screen is an issue on the Inspiron if used for photo and video editing? Cheers

        • @ets27: It has a 15.6-inch FHD (1920 x 1080) IPS Anti-Glare LED Backlit screen. So resolution isn't great, but colours, contrast and angle viewing should be Okay.

        • @iratepirate: Doesn't it only have like a 7-8 hour battery normal use

  • Just bought the XPS 15(Core i7-7700HQ 512G SSD 16GB RAM 4k Ultra HD GTX1050 4GB) $1911 on ebay. 25% off lasts for the rest of today!
