  • Great price, you'd definitely need one of those Macpac thingos though, expect temperatures -5 degrees!

Melting snow, dirt everywhere - on the roads, on the cars… A little bit chilly… I'd rather wait till mid May to start my travel.

Just in time for the world cup guys!

Broadsheet has an 8% off code (Code: BROADSHEET). Not sure if booking directly with the code will be cheaper than the OTAs but may as well give it a whirl.

    • Booking direct with the airline is far more preferable than through an agent IMHO, so it's worth a look.

The coupon discounts are off the base fares, so it won't look anything like $80 off.

Don't forget cash rewards, again only off the base fare which equates to a few dollars.

Great airline though, I've flown 9 sectors with them in the last 12 months. Deserving of their number one ranking.

      • Their economy class doesn't seem any different to any other half decent airline to me, and I found service (i.e. how often they bring drinks around etc) to be noticeably worse than other Middle East and Asian carriers.

Plus they broke the strap on my bag (meaning it no longer closes) but labelled it "minor damage" so refused to compensate for it!

I'd book them without even thinking if they were cheapest, just wouldn't look out for them specially.

  • Great deal OP :).
Wish the date was from October 14th :(.

The cost of the visa for Australian passport holders is $135 AUD

  • Have flown the A350 from Adelaide to Qatar, and can report it's about as comfortable as economy class gets. My further journey onto Europe was on a 787 and the seats were noticeably narrower and much closer together.

    • Just got back from the World Cup, Moscow is an amazing city.

Bet you haven't been there, and just trolling.

      • Didnt stay for the final? So either undercover german (Belgium) or english

    • Having just got back from there I can assure you that you are 100% WRONG

It's a joke Ned Flanders. Lighten up a bit

Just check the weather first prior making the booking for your planned activities.

March - still very cold. You wont be able to take the river cruise, and the fountain garden is not opened.

April - a bit warmer but Muddy.

Moscow absolutely rocks…check out the clubs on the island near the Red October Chocolate factory. Best nightlife, so much to do and see, and only a 3 hour high speed train to St Petersburg (Sapsan high speed train).

St Petersburg is a far more beautiful and cultured place, but Moscow just has that unforgettable buzz.

    • Are there many English speakers though? Russia has always been fairly different to the rest of Europe in that regard.

      • Language barrier can be an issue particularly with older people, but a lot of the younger people do speak basic English, and there are a lot of smart and switched on young professionals and students who are quite good with English. Also Moscow is much more touristic than the rest of Russia so you'll have no issues unless you go out to the areas with Soviet style apartment blocks.

Google translate solves your issues anyway.

Despite the write up this is probably the least desirable time of the year to go to Moscow.

At least winter has snow + orthodox xmas/new year celebrations.

  • +2

I frequent russia yearly. Do not go during this time.

      Username checks out ;)

  • What's the best time to go?

    • I've been in summer, and it's pretty great. Camping in Siberia (Novosibirsk) was actually really hot - high 30s!

  • world cup is over by then, unless they give me money to fly there

    • World Cup may be over but there's still so many amazing things to see and do. Place is rich in history and culture, not to mention the sights (women) and nightlife.

The food is average and the service sucks however, just be patient when at a restaurant or queuing up at a bar lol.

      • "the service sucks"

Can't be worse than at Surfers Paradise ;)
