  • Is there a way to price match for those who bought the 659 deal?

  • Anyone experiencing the following when entering the code PROXY

This code can't be applied to your order.

    • "3 transactions per person. $1000 max discount" if you've been using the code already a bit.

      • 10 items max per transaction.

All items must be from PROXY code participanting vendors.

      • I haven't used the code yet ??

For those planning to claim TRS: worth knowing that the tax invoice will be for the full amount, not the discounted amount. So your TRS claim would be $77.

    Galaxy S8 (G950F, 64GB/4GB, AU Stock) $637.50

    Sharp Aquos S2 64GB/4GB ~$220 just sayin …

(Check specs as they are not identical).

Why buy a GTX 1070 when you can buy a GT 1030? Despite them both having same RAM/ROM there is a massive difference in terms of speed, performance, quality and warranty.

      Pfft get a Nokia 3310

  • I'd be all over it if it had dual SIM.

  • I'm looking to buy a new phone for my wife, tossing up between this and the S9. Is the extra ~$250 justifiable for the S9? I've checked spec comparisons and my gut feeling is that this is the better option considering price, but thought I'd seek a few opinions. Cheers

I'd personally go for the S8 as it's cheaper and not a massive difference between the two.

      • Was leaning that way. Thank you

        • Like you I started looking at the S9

Saw this deal and gave the S8 some serious thought.

Then saw the S7 from same eBay seller and ended up with that (I feel ill spending over $300 on a phone). So in good OZB style I ended up maybe $500 better off than when I woke up today.

The performance for 7 and 8 seemed not too far apart - the S8 sure looks more modern though. S9 seems to blow them both out the water with its benchmark results.

        • @nith265:

If you can deal with bezels then it's almost the same phone- same RAM and camera. I bought mine two years ago and normally upgrade a lot. However, I have not really seen anything that justifies an upgrade yet… I will wait for the s10 or whatever they call it.

        • @spazattack91:
thanks for confirming - I didnt really research it deeply.

It's always amazing to me the premium human's are prepared to pay for the latest. I'm far from immune - I wanted the S8 becasue it looks a lot cooler but I couldnt see an obvious spec difference so went cheap with the S7.

This one is for my wife - all she really cares about is it not be a Redmi Note like mine and her last phone.

  • for me It is coming as $686.79 after using the Discount code.

    Item (1) AU $849.99
    Postage AU $6.80
    Vouchers -AU $170.00
    Order total AU $686.79

    • Are you ebay plus?

Thanks OP great price for AU S8.

Amazing eBay feedback for this seller also. Can’t ever recall ever seeing just 1 negative piece of feedback over 12months with volume of 5000 sales (or is it all faked somehow and am I being naive…)

I actually went for the S7 at $458 only gold left:

    eBay plus signup
    S7 - $610.99
    25% discount - $169.55
    Total $458.24

    (minus $4.58 for cashrewards also)

Here's hoping it all works out.

edit: actually I'm seeing for $6 more they have non Vodafone branded one - am going to try and switch to that instead

    • +1

They rang me to say I couldnt amend my eBay order and had cancel and reorder the non Vodafone one which I did.

Impressed they took the time to ring and explain.

They seem to be the same people as www.mobileciti.com.au so they might be an actual bricks and mortar business rather than one guy in his garage.

    • +1

Their amazing feedback is most likely due to their superb customer service. I just bought the s8 from them a few hours before the price dropped again in this deal, so messaged them when I woke up and noticed the lower price in Ozbargain, and got a reply along the lines of although they usually can't do it they were able to work something out for me. One very happy customer here :)

And yes, I think they are mobileciti too as nith says. One of the team who rang me to confirm the correct order at first mentioned mobileciti before saying my order from Allphones. Either that, or they both use the same call centre haha.

      • Yep - I've no reason to doubt the eBay feedback now either.

S7 arrived this morning. Ordered Monday afternoon, arrived Wednesday morning, under 2 days delivery, and thats with me mucking around cancelling and changing my order - impressed.

New sealed in box exactly as described, all seems perfect.
