  • I got 100 000 MR minute when I signed up a year or two ago, think that still comes up occasionally.

  • +1

Does it have fees on OS transactions? Need a new card as connbank has pulled their Amex.

  • Why not wait until 120k points to sign-up? And yes to overseas transactions, 3% to be precise I believe.

    • There’s never been 120k signup for the Explorer. Max was 110k

      • True, 110k, I was thinking about bonus points for Qantas Assure when typing this. But still, 50k v.s. 110k is a big difference.

        • Depends on what you transfer it to. 60k Gateway points prior to SPG August devaluation will get 90k Marriott Rewards. After devaluation it's only 73.33k and that's with the 110k Gateway points

  • 50k is just standard. Not really bargain.

    • Agree, but if 60k via referral, and referrer gets 60k bonus as well. Total for applicant and referrer is 120k, which is good if you have a partner to refer to.

      • Referrer only get 30k

        • +1

          It’s 60k for a limited time.

  • Not a bargain

    • Agree if it's just 50k and standard 30k referral, but if 60k via referral, and referrer gets 60k bonus as well. Total for applicant and referrer is 120k, which is good if you have a partner to refer to.

      • Where does it shows extra 60,000 for refree and referer

        • Log into your Amex and select ‘Refer a friend’ it says the referral bonus in there.

  • Isn't this a long running referral all the time?

    • Yup RRP.

    • Not when it’s double the referral points.

  • +1

This is just standard. The 100k bonus comes up twice per annum so it would be silly to go for this deal right now.

    • Not necessarily. If you have a partner or family member, and need an amex card now, its a decent deal for total points amassed.

  • Correct me if I am wrong here, if you do not have partner who can refer you, then you (applicant) will receive 50K+10K= 60K only in total

  • I think OP posted this in an attempt to promote his chances of getting referrals ;-)

    • I believe the referrals are all randomised now.

      • agreed, but posting the deal might send more people to the referral section of this site and increases his chances somewhat.

      • If the deal gets >20 votes I thought the OP's referral was shown?

        • Ok that’s something new to me.

        • If the deal gets >20 votes I thought the OP's referral was shown?

If deal gets net +25 Votes (front page) it is also shown yes, otherwise it's random only.

  • New Referral Bonus Offer.
When you refer someone.. you will get 60K points instead of 30 now.
So both the refer and the referee will receive 60K.

  • Good for the referrer but not the referee. I've seen this card offered with 80k, 100k and even 110k signups.

  • How often do they have 100-110k sign-ons for new applicants?
