Just an FYI - this customized version of Alcatel was made for Optus and lacks 850mhz 3G band. Check your network coverage maps first before buying.

  • price is quite good. can it be unlocked without extra cost?

    • Got mine done for a couple of dollars on eBay.

      • thanks mate

  • I bought one of these a few weeks ago and the touchscreen/digitisor was cactus - seems it's a common fault with this one. You could be banging away at it and only get a 3/10 response rate. Took it back…

Not bad, but unless you need to be on Optus, the Nokia 3 is probably a much better phone for only $25 more at woolies currently.

Yeah it seems to have the Optus bands ok, but not easy to unlock…

      • Hi , got it unlocked through a seller on ebay for $2.50

        • You did?
You do mean the Nokia 3?

Care to share the specific link?

@AngryChicken: No sorry the Alcatalel I was referring to. Now I see you were referring to Nokia 3

  • MT6737, 2GB RAM - these particular specs are the same as Nokia 3, $89.50 https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/391443

    • So which do you think is better?

      • Alcatel don't have very good build quality, by reputation and my experience. I don't know about the new reborn Nokia brand, but it's probaby better.
The Nokia has NFC, Android 7.0 and a bigger battery.

I prefer the elite Y6 huawei ($29) because it has double the GPU power (though most wouldn't, since it only has 1GB RAM. Also, out of stock.) https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/388291
