        • @dasher86: And done, cheers! :)

        • @smurfstah:
np. don't forget to turn off auto subscribe.

        • @dasher86: yep already done that thanks!

        • @smurfstah: Welcome!

        • +1

@smurfstah: Don't forget you get access to 3 free games every month when you get xbox live gold sub (Games with Gold), so even if you don't want the games pass, you'll still have a few new games to play each month

      • So without Xbox live there are no online games playable at all it just purely becomes an offline gaming media centre machine? (YouTube, mixer, broadcasts, offline games, couch co-op games)

What is the extent that you can do on an Xbox with no Xbox live like list all the things of possible (sorry I'm pedantic)

        • I'm not too sure tbh, but you can still connect to wifi without live.
So I would imagine you could do YouTube, Netflix etc without live.

        • You can do everything bar playing games online…

  • Huh, great timing for those of us who bought the Amazon One Second deal! Should I buy the 3 months BEFORE activating my 1 month trial?

    • +2

Yes, get the 3mth first. Otherwise you won't be able to purchase it.

  • All good until August 2020 now thanks to this, the buy 3 months get 3 free, and get a month for turning on recurring. Of course I've turned off recurring payments.

    • How did you get the 1 month for recurring, I've tried this before but it just automatically turns recurring on when I add a sub with no option or prompt to "turn on for 1 free month"

  • I have never used game pass. What's the best way to get all the free months?

    • +4

Get someone else to pay $10.95 a month for you…?

  • Thanks, been riding the $10.95(xbox live) monthly for ages ! lol

  • +2

Just bought game pass and Amex emailed me saying thanks for using the Xbox 20% offer…Although this offer ended 2 days ago… if it goes through, could get the 12 month Gold for $48 odd dollars, or even less with CR

    • +1

      Same thing here

      • Me too, bought with Amex and CR. Crossing my fingers!

        • Just bought NBA live with my AMEX and I also got the Xbox 20% email. Can anybody confirm if they've received the cashback credit?

        • @Chickfilo:
I received the email last night saying the cashback credit is in my account for the live offer

        • @habib23q: samegot credits $2 for the game pass.

Should’ve bit the bullet and ordered another gold. But I’m thinking I’m 2.5 years left still

        • @Danstar:
Sweet also got the same email for my ps4 pro cash rewards I bought the other day from the amazon prime sale :)

  • +1

Is that a decent price for Gold? I got a super cheap subscription 2y ago but it's just run out.

    • +2

      Very good price

      • Awesome, thanks!

  • +2

Keep in mind that if you buy GP now, you’ll only be able to play Forza Horizon 4 for a week and a half. Hold off for a while if you want to play longer.

    • Good point - that could be the only reason I'd stump up for the Game Pass deal - three months of FH4 (if you hold off activating until October) for a tenner is a pretty good deal while the game is at new release prices…

  • Can u pay with Xbox gift card for potential extra 5% off (bought using discounted egift card)

  • anyone use 'buy as gift'. It shows regular price when you choose that option

  • +1

    Thanks, just resubbed till 2021

  • Argh just bought the game pass and it started as a subscription straight away instead of giving me a code I could use later.

    :(

    • I dont think you can buy 'code/gift' with the discounted price.

  • +6

In 10 years as a Gold subscriber this is the cheapest I've seen from Microsoft. It's good to not have to use a shonky 3rd party for a change!

  • Too good! Thanks OP!

  • Huh.

Having looked, the Game Pass selection is honestly a bit shit. Anyone who's kept up with gaming for the last 10 years will be pretty uninterested in the selection I suspect. Doesn't even have the Halo Collection…

  • Can anybody confirm if the Gold membership redeems immediately on your account? Want to buy now but use at a later time. I've already stacked close to 3 years and don't want to deal with support after the issues with the 3 promo code they ran recently.

    • Immediately on your account, just keep stacking

  • If you have the AMEX offer on your card you get a further 20% off as well.

    • what amex offer?

    • +1

That ended on the 17th, I got email saying thanks for using offer when buying. We'll see if it goes through though

      • Will be awesome if they still honor it!

  • Thanks OP stacked to 2020 :)

The rest of the ulitmate game sale is up - here is the link - 539 titles on sale.

    Ultimate Game Sale

  • Is there a way to buy now and activate later? e.g. have a code emailed.

  • +1

Those that have been doing the Microsoft Rewards may have points to redeem. There's a sale on Microsoft Gift Cards - 3750 reward points = $5 gift card (normally 5000 points). Lower discount on XBox gift cards at 4750 points. You can also get the $10 version.

The store will use up the gift card first before charging your credit card.

Edit: My Amex offer worked, despite having expired.

    • Thanks for the reminder. I'm almost at a $10 Microsoft gift card.

Got the kids the cheap Minecraft console on Amazon AU recently.
Not giving it to them til Xmas, but would like to get the a Gold account and Game Pass as well.
Am I able to grab these now and activate at Xmas? Not familiar with this stuff.
    Thanks everyone.

    • The answer so far is not possible. You could try calling Microsoft Store Sales and Customer Support: 1800 267 785 and tell them you want to buy at this price as a gift (as advertised).

    • If you buy from Microsoft it'll be instantly applied to your account. Your best bet would be to hope (set an Ozbargain alert) for a deal closer to Christmas.

Or you can buy from a slightly shady reseller like cdkeys.com.au. They've worked for me in the past. They'll email you a code that you can use later.

    • Activate the Gold account and claim the games every month so they would have more games to play by Christmas.

  • Tried purchasing it as a gift for my nephew but the price was $32.95.

  • Doesn't it work out cheaper using 4x 3 month codes? Or is that not allowed?

    • It does. Good pickup, the three months wasn't discounted before.

    • 3 months for inactive users. So you can't buy the 3 month Live if you have an active Gold service

      • So if I have an inactive account could I buy the 3mths gold for $11 then top up with 12mth Gold for $53?

  • My son recently was gifted some Xbox vouchers for his birthday but I have been told that you can't use Xbox vouchers to buy Xbox live, is that true? Seems illogical that you couldn't buy something in the store.

    Thanks

    • Once you redeem the vouchers on microsoft's site the funds get added to your wallet. You shouldn't have any problems using the funds to then purchase an xbox live subscription. I have just used funds that I had previously added to buy my 2 years of xbox live.

  • Thanks OP bought 2 years with Microsoft credits + 9.5% shopback.

    Only stackable for 3 years.

  • Thanks. Mine had run out about 2 weeks ago so perfect timing. Stacked 2 years onto my account.

  • Was one of those that purchased the console during Prime day. First time venturing into the world of console gaming here.

    • Can the game pass and/ or gold live be activated later? I tried to purchase the gold live and it immediately started my subscription so I called MS to cancel and refund. Was hoping someone has a workaround.

    • I saw on earlier post the older games from XBOX 360 can be downloaded as part of gold live and get to keep them even when the subscription lapse. Is this correct?

    • There are alot of discounted games that requires gold live membership. If i start the gold live and purchased the discounted games, once the subscription lapse, I assume I still get to keep the game? I dont play live so having the gold live seems to be a good way to get the games at a discount
    • For the game pass, is the steps correct? Purchase the discounted 3 mths first —> claim the free trial?
    • The console comes with some free trials too. Is the step the same as above? Purchase the discounted ones first, then claim whatever free trial?
    • And what is DLC?

    Thankx

  • Anyone know why Microsoft got rid of their 'Family Xbox Live Gold' pass? I didn't know about it (or need it at the time it was available), but makes so much sense now that these are full entertainment devices - gaming, netflix, nba, other etc.

With three Xbox One's in the house it's a juggle to sort access. Did some reading last night seems as though we won't be able to get away with one Xbox Live Gold subscription - probably need at least two across the three boxes…

    • You can set one xbox as the home xbox and that has access to everything the main account has on it, with any sign on.

The other xbox's will work the same way with the account that has gold on it, but if other accounts try to log onto it. They will not have access to gold services or games that are linked to the account that originally bought games…

      If that makes sense?

I'm in the same situation as you, have 3 Xbox's. have to buy 2 lots of Gold

      • Thanks Danstar - I'll pick up another Gold sub.

Hopefully Microsoft come to the party again some day with 'household gold' - doesn't make sense to make consumers purchase multiple subscriptions in a single home.

At the very least, allow the additional consoles to have online multiplayer access without the 'games with gold' if need be.

        • Very annoying indeed. Sometimes my son wants to play when I want to watch foxtel in main lounge. So he uses my xbox in my room. And it's so annoying having to try explain why he can't play some games on my xbox even though he can on his xbox.

I fixed the issue of being able to play online in my room for him by buying another subscription

  • How do you stack the Gold Live? I signed in on my account, bought 3 months for $11.95 and it won't let me do more lots of 3 months for $11.95 (shows $29.95 for 3 months). Shows $53 for 12 months though. I was going to try and get three years worth by getting 12 lots of the 3 month subscriptions? Thanks in advance for any help you can offer.

    • The 3 month offer is only valid if your gold service is inactive.

  • +1

Just got the Game Pass for $9.99 for 3 months using the same link that says expired in the OP. So that deal is improved! Thanks OP.

  • Not sure if the 30 Aug expiry date on this deal is accurate? It says "5 days remaining" on the site.

  • lmao fml for waiting until the last day to get the most out of it.

  • seems like this is expired
