  • price has increased that makes me very happy that i got in early,

Though speaking with a mate he said he has the exact same but in the Samsung version even said his back was the same, and i asked how much he paid…. he said $1200

Kogan website has it now for $649 and ebay has it for $697.68 then take 10% of for codeword

    • +1

yeah I ended up looking at ordering it the other day, saw a count down timer for a 'price rise'… figured it was just a cheap sales tactic being kogan and all.

Turns out it was not bluffing! got in at the cheaper price though so I'm happy

      • they also have a price drop guarantee, I almost submitted one on the price discount on ebay from the dicksmith store, but didnt bother as 1) happy with price and 2) they may have argued 2 different business entities

  • Ended up getting my monitor. Tweaked some of the setting and now I really like it.

I had it next to my old Crossover 27 IPS 1440p, and initially it was nowhere near as nice.
Whole thing was kind of washed out, colours not as vibrant.

Tried manually adjusting settings but got nowhere, then read somewhere the best thing to do is put it in Movie mode, where theoretically it is setup to properly recreate actual colours. Did this, pretty good.

Then did Windows screen calibration tool, ended up dropping the gamma a bit (the blacks are blacker) and dropped a little green colour cast, and now it's great. Almost can't distinguish is from the old IPS now. Happy!

Oh, and anyone worried about it being white, it looks like the strip will come off easily with a few screws along the bottom edge. White is kinda growing on me though!

    • well done, yeah im very happy still, and now i see a big price jump im happy i got in early

    • Nice, i might give this a go too.
I come from old 10 years old monitor so i was happy with the original settings since nothing to compare.

Also still very happy about the monitor so far, played fallout 4 and haven had any issues. My wife told me she wants one too!
Maybe i should give her this and i get the kogan 49"…haha

I guess the only problem i have was the monitor still a bit heavy for my monitor arm, even thought it supposedly able to handle up to 10kg.

    • show a pic of your windows settings for those playing at home ;)

    • I tried the movie mode and calibration tools, maybe was my eyes issues, was too bright and look a bit weird.
So changed back to text/game mode which have lower brightness. notice you can't change the brightness on the monitor when using certain movie movie?

      • Nah whatever looks best to you is best, unless you are doing say photo editing work.

I'm a sucker for slightly over saturated colours, maybe that's why I liked the ips.

Is a bit lame you can't adjust the brightness down though on that mode! Not sure what that's about.
