Already a member, though it doesn't come up within my Australia Post account as others have noted.

Regardless, i wonder if this is a way to lock in the $1/month…

EDIT #1: Maybe not - 12 month's free subscription of Shipster and reduced subscription fees are not available concurrently with any existing offer for free or reduced subscription to Shipster.

    EDIT #2: Did it anyway…

    • Following the 12 month trial offer, you will be automatically charged $1 per month or $10 per annum (as selected) until you cancel your Shipster subscription. All payments will be deducted from your PayPal account. The monthly or annual fee (as applicable)is deducted from your PayPal account. 12 month's free subscription of Shipster and reduced subscription fees are not available concurrently with any existing offer for free or reduced subscription to Shipster. Offer available to PayPal customers only. By agreeing to the offer, you also agree to the Shipster terms and conditions which can be viewed at auspost.com.au/Shipster

Remember we're talking about Australia Post. Do you think they'll have the systems in place to detect all this?

        • +2

Hey they cant even cancel stamps on letters and parcels I receive….

Problem is I have far more stamps like this than I can use…

        • +1

          @RockyRaccoon:

Trading forums, profit. Send them using one of those free stamps :)

  • +13

    Can these 12 months stack?

    • +3

The site is hilariously bad. No way of knowing what's going on or whether you even have an account or trial. I've entered my details in about 3 times now with a congratulations at the end each time. But still no confirmation email.

Does that mean I get 3 years?

      • +2

Probs not but they WILL charge you 3 bucks a month!

  • Have problems signing up with the website.. ended up working after using Microsoft edge.

    • +1

Yep same, can't seem to get it to work on my mobile as both mobile and desktop option ticked. Gets through PayPal then stops after agree and continue. Will try on desktop when I get home.

      • Same here blank page after agree. Anyone got it?

        • using Samsung internet app seems to work

      • Worked for me on iPhone using Firefox.

    • +4

Far out. This is 2018. If you can't get your business website properly running on anything other than Edge, then that doesn't bode well for how you run your business. Firefox for desktop and mobile platforms … bare minimum testing before publishing a new website.

      • Worked for me on desktop Firefox.

        • Yeah, its working properly now. I think they might have tinkered with it.

    • +1

No problems for me on desktop Chrome

  • +3

Signed up, havent got any emails yet

    • same

    • +5

I haven't got any emails yet either but I tried adding a few things to my cart on one of the supported websites and it picked up my Shipster account, so it must be working.

      • Thanks for the tip. Works for me.

      • Thanks for testing Mitch, well done!

    • +1

the cotton on one took a few days before the emails came through

  • +2

"offer available until July 15" - Better got on this quick!
    Thanks for posting OP!

    • Just signed up with the offer. It looks like they have extended the offer.

  • +1

I wonder how long before ebay plus & shipster merge?

    • +4

      Never, I hope.

    • +2

      Ebay plus can get stuffed!
I just wish there was a way to filter Ebay so I never have to see Plus deals again!

  • +2

Worth it for $5 deliveroo voucher each month

    • Do you have any more info on this? Did some searching and couldn't see anything on their site.

      • +1

Its under the "added bonus" heading of the deal page.
You basically get emailled a $5 voucher for Deliveroo a month, which covers delivery (except for KFC which is $8.95 delivery, at least in inner Bris)

    • +4

I use to get the Deliveroo codes when I was subscribed directly with Australia Post. However since taking up the Cotton On offer I have not received a June or July code.

      • +1

Same. Can anyone confirm if this deal comes with deliveroo monthly codes?

    • +1

I was not getting the monthly deliveroo vouchers, so I made an enquiry last week. Turns out that if you unsubsribed from any Shipster emails, you will not get the deliveroo vouchers, and they can't update this setting on your account. This is the answer I received:

I've investigated why you did not receive a Deliveroo voucher and have discovered that you once clicked on 'unsubscribe' at the bottom of marketing email from Shipster. The result of this is that we are unable send you any marketing emails, which includes, your welcome email, standard promotional emails and Deliveroo vouchers and any other item deemed marketing.

We are not able to overwrite this request and are therefore not legally able to send you this.

The only way around this is if you choose to re-subscribe using a different email and not using xxxxx@xxxx. That subscription would have a charge of either $1.00 per month or $10.00 annually.

  • +4

Already a member, signed up again, but when I try to "Manage Subscription", I got "get in touch" page, so how can we check subscription status?

    • The website is so broken it's not even funny. Honestly…

      • Try again now, I think they might have fixed the issue. Earlier attempts to use the website was a waste of time… but just tried it again this morning and it seems to be a little better.

    • Same here.

  • +1

Signed up through PayPal but I can't seem to find where I can remove the post 12 month payments?

    • +6

You can just cancel within your Paypal account here and turn off Australia Post Corporation, it will last until the 12 months is over and they'll attempt to charge your paypal, but because you blocked them, they just give up after 3 days of trying to charge.

      • +3

It may not work on this occasion due to this

I want to use my Visa x-xxxx for future purchases to Australian Postal Corporation. Payments will be made first from my PayPal balance, and then my chosen payment method above. I understand that if my payment method is declined or expired, PayPal will charge my backup payment method and my bank may charge a dishonour fee.

I've never seen this before when accepting PayPal payment terms, and seems they can charge your card direct? I could be wrong.

        • Arghhh okay, hopefully it still works :)

        • @doweyy: I was able to cancel mine still

        • Not sure how if/how it applies here but they always had that in regards to if a payment is rejected by a bank (ie its made on a weekend but then come Monday the bank rejects it) then they will try to get their money from your credit card instead, I'd be pretty sure that if you cancelled the Automatic payment authority they wouldn't then try to take it from your credit card.

I have done this multiple times when signing up for subscription services were cancelling results in instant termination of the service and never had issues.

        • +1

isnt that just when ur credit card doesnt have enough money available or its expired?
that shouldnt apply if you remove the approval in paypal.

        • @The 10th Doctor: I've cancelled through PayPal. Is that completely cancelled now?

        • I'd be cancelling with the merchant directly.

The terms TA has posted above clearly state they can hit your savings account of the credit card direct debit has been cancelled.

Get in touch with Shipster via email requesting cancellation, so you have a time date stamp.

Mind you, $10pa isn't a bad offer at all to be honest.

        • I don't have a backup payment method and registered on PayPal using a pre-paid credit card!
          Ha ha!

        • @AngryChicken:

Unless they charge you a dishonour fee.

          Ha ha!

You should cancel via your account or contacting them:

"You may cancel your Shipster subscription at any time by contacting the Service Centre, or by visiting Your Account and adjusting your subscription settings."

        • @Scab: No, i don't want to.

      • Does this work 100%?

      • Cancelled mine - thanks =)

  • +2

The signup process worked flawlessly for me via Chrome on desktop.

    • +4

On Chrome mobile, get a blank page

      • Same.

        • Used Firefox mobile, even edge mobile won't work.

      • Samsung internet app on mobile worked

        • not for me, worked on ipad & desktop fine though (chrome on both)..

      • Same as well

  • +1

Nice one. I created a second account to associate with another email address I use, so now covered for both. Just wish there were more "major"
    suppliers onboard! Thanks OP.

  • seemed to work for me.

  • Thanks a lot!

  • Any cashback deals on this?

  • Do we suppose to receive email confirmation?

    • I don't believe its instant so no. You will receive an email congratulating you once account is setup. Might take a day or two. That's how my last one worked at least i.e. no immediate email.

      • Cheers

  • Signed up and then cancelled paypal agreement. Easy!

  • wow great first deal !

    • +2

They got penalty boxed most likely for not saying they are associated. :P

  • How will the free shipping be applied? I registered to shipster, then went to mrsupplement site, added a product worth around $45, but it shows me shipping costs of $9.95.

    • +1

once you enter your email address you registered with in the checkout, it should reload with free shipping. Works fine for me when tried the Harvey Norman site.

  • +3

Against my better judgement I have signed up! lol

It's a great deal with PayPal picking up the tab, but Shipster has that slimy Gerry-Harvey-in-bed-with-officials stench about it. Essentially the scam seems to be to use tax payer money and assets (AusPost) to provide chosen companies (HN, Domayne) with a subsidy. Auspost exec's can also use it as leverage. They decide who is approved (friends) and not approved (foes that don't play ball), to receive this subsidy. Friends still include include "good" international giants like Toys'r Us, and Athletes Foot - just not Gerry's perceived competitors like Amazon = "bad"). Lol You get the picture.

    • +1

I'm hoping Amazon is planning to broaden its operations here to actually provide a logistical alternative. Then it can hopefully begin to be more competitive.

  • +1

Registered fine with Apple Macbook / Google Chrome.

12months free shipping - will cancel after 12months as of today (already got it in my calendar to remind me)

  • +1

I’m unsure if the Deliveroo vouchers are account specific but as they don’t deliver to my area I’m happy to forward this on if anyone wants them

  • Just curious if anyone has actually used their shipster membership and how often?

A lot of the participating retailers are ones I'd shop at once in a while (instead of regularly) and when I do, I usually spend a lot at once meeting the free shipping requirement.

    • I recently used it to make a few orders from Shaver Shop. There was no problems for me.

    • +1

I've used it several times, minimum spend is $25 for shipster, whereas a lot of the stores I shop at have much higher spends for free shipping (if they offer free shipping at all). So it saves me adding extra stuff to my cart just to qualify for free shipping! And this is a great deal - free for a year - and then $10 the year after if you keep it.

      • +1

$10 is nothing really. Now if only many more shops join.

      • +1

        Exactly right sugarbaby.

The $25 minimum spend for 'free shipping' is worth $10 per year. With this offer of not having to pay $10 for the first year, its a great bargain (hence the votes above!).

  • Is current members allowed to sign up?

  • +4

Even at $10 a year it's a decent offer, use it once and it's pretty much paid for itself.

  • +5

You have to contact customer service to cancel your subscription with Shipster. That's incredibly shitty. People above are saying you can cancel the payments with paypal, maybe, but any decent service allows cancellation within account settings. A very bad first impression for me.

      • +7

How hard is it to add a cancellation button on their website ?

        • How do we cancel eBay plus?

    • The Manage subscriptions button and the FAQs certainly give that impression, however, included in the Terms and Conditions is a link to Your Account

From there you can cancel it without having to contact anyone.

  • Good stuff. Cheers.

  • Perfect timing! My previous 3 months free Shipster expired this week. They cancelled my account after failing to deduct the monthly $6.95 fee from my Pre-paid Visa card. Just signed up this 12 months free trial and removed Auspost from Active Payment list on my Paypal account. Thanks OP.

  • Thanks, signed up. Great deal for free….

  • signed, then go back to paypal and after few clicks….

    Australian Postal Corporation
    Status
    INACTIVE

  • Nice deal. As someone mentioned before, Iam concerned how Shipster is managing to keep its business afloat and still offer these deals. Free trials this long MUST hurt a company for sure.

  • thanks OP

  • Cheers, OP!

  • Thanks.

    Worked for me on Edge.

  • Why are they using this horrible broken Chargebee thing for PayPal instead of just PayPal directly?

    • I just signed up and it took me to PayPal direct to confirm the billing agreement (for after the 12 months)?

I never seen a mention of Chargebee (I'd never even heard of them until this comment).

      • +1

Chargebee came up on mobile for me and didn't work. Desktop worked fine just now.

        • Sign up via desktop for the least amount of issues it seems.

Via desktop, using firefox, it uses paypal direct.
This combo didnt work yesterday, but works today.

  • Domestic parcel only - how would kogan work?

  • How do we automatically cancel? Manage my subs goes to a contact us form
