[Sold Out] UV Checker FREE + $0.01 Postage

60

UV Checker with Mirror is a great gift for young and old.

How do they work? Well normally you can't see Ultraviolet Light - it is beyond the visible spectrum. However there are some substances that absorb UV light, and convert it to a longer wavelength, i.e. visible light. So really, we are making the invisible (UV light) visible - as "simple" as that.

Seems to be low stock.. so hurry. :-)

Damn that was fast, hope at least a couple of you got one.. :-)

    In the original email I was sent it said the following:

    "As our valued customer, you are now
    eligible to receive a FREEBIE from us, yes FREE, including FREE postage
    and no catch, simply go to URL to claim your prize. Enjoy!"

    However, it was $0.01 which is not free obviously… a little bit dodgy.

      Their checkout system and Paypal don't accept 0 cent transactions which is why its a cent.
      Nonetheless i still see where your coming from, every cent counts on OZbargain lol.

        Personally, it's more the fact that it's then counted as a "transaction", and requires bank details (ie. credit card, paypal, etc). If it's "free", it shouldn't require anything…

        Just look at the recent V. Day offers - none of those required anything aside from an address. That's how a "free" offer should be done.

          freebie should be something w/o use of transaction

        • +2

          Yeah its the principle that counts in the end. They think that its acceptable to do so.

      • Agreed.

        Free including free postage and no catch is false advertising when it's really "just 1 cent".

    I don't get it. This product both confuses and angers me. Why do I want to know when UV light is hitting it?? Am I unable to tell if I'm outside in the sun anymore??

    • +1

      does this come in braille?

    • +3

      Direct your anger at the idiots that waste their time with this crap!

      Daylight = UV light present.

      How low can Australia's average IQ get?

      Ignorance or a joke?

      Ever heard of the UV Index, an international standard measurement of how strong is the ultraviolet (UV) radiation from the sun at a particular place on a particular day. It is a scale primarily used in daily forecasts aimed at the general public

      http://www.arpansa.gov.au/uvindex/daily/ausuvindex.htm

      Read and learn :-)

      • That's all good and well, except this device does 2 things;

        • If there is no UV light, it stays transparent.
        • When it "detects" UV light, it changes colour.

        It doesn't measure UV light, it merely shows whether there is any or not. If it measured the UV levels it might actually be useful. :P

        • It does measure the strength of the UV light to an extent… "The darker the colour, the stronger the UV ray". How useful a guide that is remains to be seen, but in concept at least, it is a worthwhile idea for people that spend time under the Australian sun.

    What's the point….the UV level is always on the high in the land down under… it's not like the Ozone is healing.
