Credit Card payment also seems to be back after some previous issues

Enjoy!

        That's great news!

  • Here's the wiki page for discounted gift cards:

    https://www.ozbargain.com.au/wiki/discounted_egift_cards

  • So how come does over east get all these discounts with rac but wa don't should be all same.

  • RACQ Lifestyle provide hopeless customer service. To get responses for my issue about one of their gift cards not working I had to go on Facebook. Suncorp Rewards much better IMO.

Really? I've had awesome service from RACQ lifestlye? Maybe they're up and down..

    • Thats because "customer service" is based on the individual giving it and not the established organisation's policies… alinta energy on the other hand…

  • Trying to find bunnings gift cards find it impossible to find at discount.

    • I've been wondering about this. You can buy at least some gift cards with WISH egift cards at Big W (JB Hifi, Steam, Xbox, Nintendo, PSN all work for me; none I've tried have not worked). They sell Bunnings cards. Sooo, you could get them 5% off that way but I haven't tried it specifically with Bunnings cards yet.

      • I know woolworths dont sell bunnings cards or at least my local did not show any.
But in wa i have tried several places to buy gift cards from woolies with egift cards at checkout and self checkout and never been able to get as can't buy gift cards for gift cards.

Item im after is $199 at bunnings but dont want to end up with this in a egift card i cant use in bunnings.

Is there some process that i need to do or are they doing something to machines to not allow.

Confirmed as I did it last week :

          Bought 5% Coles e-gift card.
Went to Coles, grabbed Bunnings gift cards $50 x4, and some groceries, went through a human checkout (not self serve), paid with my 5% Coles e-gift card.

Presto : Bunnings 5% discount gift cards.

@dangerdanger: yeah I do it at the self service too. Does the attendant need to activate them? (I can't remember which cards need manual activation).

        • @supabrudda:
The Bunnings cards have a bar code.
They scanned it all, I paid for it with my e-giftcard, the attendant scribbled the activation / expiry date on the back.
          Nothing extra needed.

The Coles invoice has "Bunnings Gift Card approved" with a serial number for each card.

        • It specifically will not work at Woolworths. They changed it several months back so you cannot use WISH cards to buy gift cards. Big W still works though. I use the self-checkouts. But yeah, it's not guaranteed for Bunnings cards, so don't risk it if you have no other use for WISH cards.

        • @mj7312: What's the worse that can happen? They say no, you use the wish gift card on groceries or booze instead

        • @mj7312: But people on here were saying just a week or two ago that it still worked for them at Woolworths..?

        • I know woolworths dont sell bunnings cards or at least my local did not show any.

Bunnings is owned by Wesfarmers, and Coles was owned by Wesfarmers until recently (now Coles is a separate entity).

Therefore you're unlikely to see Bunnings gift cards at any Woolworths or BigW stores, it would be like them supporting their opposition.

      • No only Coles sells Bunnings(kmart, target, 1st choice) GiftCards, as they all have the same parent company.

Woolies sell Wish/Dan Murphy/BigW/etc as they're all part of the same group.

they don't cross sell competitor's giftcards

        • So coles are only ones who sell bunnings cards then.
Think i leave it as don't shop there and dont want to risk not being able to buy the bunnings card with coles gift card and stuck with the egift card.

          • @bwatt72: Just reading this old thread and wanted to point out that it still works well to buy bunnings gift cards from coles using discount coles egift cards.

About to buy a $260 item from bunnings doing this (and used it last week and it worked)

  • So some are saying bigw still let you use wish egift cards but do they still have bunnings cards they are part of woolies so would thing they dont have?
You guys are saying you can't buy gift cards with egift cards at woolies i have tried this personally few times and never worked for me but not tried bigw.
If bigw sell bunnings gift cards and i can use wish egift then if all fails i can use the egift on shopping at woolies next shop.
But i can get coles discount egift cards with 5% off but if im refused at coles to get bunnings gift cards i really have no use for them as i don't really shop there.
All im trying to do is get bunnings gift cards at discount to save a little.
Item is $200 and if i can find ways im always after a little discount a true oz bargainer.

  • eb games has disappeared from racq and the link from the suncorp app goes back to the homepage…

  • Coles now 4%
