$105 is a lot of money for a low spec Chinese Quartz. For this price, or a little more, you can buy a Seiko, Citizen or Orient that is far superior and comes from a company that has horological history. This looks like a generic AliExpress 'minimalist' Chinese made quartz. They're normally very cheap on Ali, but you can get a decent one for $30-40.

This one with a Japanese movement and sapphire crystal has been getting decent reviews: https://www.google.com.au/amp/s/m.aliexpress.com/item/100000…

  • I hear an echo echo echo

  • To be fair, this watch claims to be 6.2mm thick whilst the other watches mentioned are 8mm or 9mm. So it is thinner, but even so yeah I'll pass.

    • Quartz movements are very thin. Anything under 10mm is fine and will easily fit under a shirt cuff. A 6.2mm watch will have odd proportions IMO. Just have a look at the quartz offerings from the big players. Despite the thin movement, they make them thicker and more in proportion to an automatic watch so it feels more substantial and solid - which feels more upmarket and $.

      • Heh. My old Raymond Weil Othello at an insane 1.2mm is what I call a thin watch. ;-)

  • Xiaomi no Smart is not Xiaomi.

  • Lol another Daniel Wellington watch

    • Tell me about it. But it doesn't even have a cool fictitious narrative to go with it.

  • What is the significance of the 18?
