I wouldn't trust Kogan for buying a TV…let alone with my health insurance!

    • +2

It’s actually ahm which is owned by Medibank Private.

      • +1

Didn't Kogan rip out phone plans from under people?

There is no way I would purchase from Kogan. Just get ahm to match the Kogan deal.

        • +2

Nope. In fact Kogan bumped up their data allowance, even if you had pre-purchased a year long plan.

And it's been a lot more bulletproof than friends on Optus, and even Telstra in metro areas.

        • @Lv80: I was talking about the prior iteration of Kogan mobile.

        • +2

@mdavant: hardly their fault. The were using ispone who went to into receivership and Telstra didn't want to wholesale to them.

  • Watching. Think this looks decent value compared with what I'm paying through my current provider.

    I love this:

"We reserve the right to amend the offer terms and conditions at any time"

    • Yes, that’s the promotion though, not the actual health insurance policy

    • +1

      This if for the offer!!

You realise that banks have a clause in their mortgage contracts that state they can recall they money lent at any stage?

      • -1

        I don't have a mortgage.

        • +1

          Exactly my point!

You laugh at the T&C's for a promotion and that they can change it…but don't realise no-one cares…especially when you consider that there's real life stuff that is far more dramatic that a company that chooses to be able to change the conditions of an offer.

Unless you genuinely love the term.

No different to a mate inviting you over, then ringing you up and cancelling before you come. Obviously if you rock up it'd be pretty rude to not invite you in…but Kogan are saying, where things change, we reserve the right to change them.

Otherwise you have people complaining. Just like they do when they buy something and a week later there is a sale and they demand the sale price. No. That's just life.

          Move on.

        • -3

@Lv80: This is a incoherent reply.

        • -1

That doesn't change the fact of whether or not you know about the clause.
The answers that would have made sense would be "Yes I knew that" or "No I didnt"
No one asked if you had a Mortgage

        • -1

          @MasterScythe:

And no one asked about mortgages. Relevant much. Not.

        • @Icecold5000: your complaint, or call out on the t&c's, in comparison to real life issues is the irrelevance.

        • @Icecold5000: as much as no-one asked for your opinion…but you gave it. So did I.

        • -1

@Lv80: … About something which was meaningless to the topic at hand. Slow clap.

        • @Icecold5000: haha…like complaining about a company reserving their right to change their promotions T&C's. And how this isn't even worth worrying about considering more serious issues regarding changes to T&C's and not the T&C of the promotion…not the product.

        • -1

          @Lv80:

Why don't you tell us more about the clauses in your mortgage. I'm sure we all see the relevance to buying insurance from Kogan and wait with bated for more information.

        • @MasterScythe:

"That doesn't change the fact of whether or not you know about the clause.
The answers that would have made sense would be "Yes I knew that" or "No I didnt"
No one asked if you had a Mortgage"

The only reason you wouldn't know it is if you didn't read it. And if you didn't read it why would you bother reading your response reiterating it?

It is irrelevant. There are more than one answer. Especially with your sarcasm about the condition quoted.

It's literally a 17 point T&C….as apposed to a mortgage T&C which is about 17 pages, and results in you loosing your house…as opposed to the possibility Kogan might, possibly, if they want or need to, change the T&C of the promotion/offer and not the end product once you've signed.

        • @Icecold5000:
I don't want to excite you too much champ. If you "love" one T&C point in a small promotional offer, my mortgage T&C's would have you in love with banks.

        • +1

          @Lv80:

You sound like a fun guy to hang out with.

  • Beware of kogan! I have a lot of issues with them when it comes to product wanranty, worst customer service, i would never trust them with my health insurance.

  • As dfung mentioned above, the policy appears to be offered by ahm who is ultimately owned by medibank.

For tax purposes only, this looks to be one of the better deals around.

    • ahm have the same deal & prices…

Without the $60 kogan credit. All health funds are legally required to charge everyone the same price for their policies. This is why those market compare sites are such a scam. They get a referral kickback, you get charged the same price. You're better off using the gov website https://www.privatehealth.gov.au/dynamic/search
