270

For those who missed out on the ebay plus deal a week and a bit ago.
I said it's possibly with a $200 gift card as some people have noticed that the promo might have ended early even if the advertisement states it's till the end of July.

Series P 65 inch P6 QUHD Android TV

Edit:

Looks like you can claim the $200 gift card again

  • You do get a $180 store credit according to the website

There have to honour the $200 - its plastered all over their website.

    • Yeah hoping it was a glitch or something

  • +1

The hisense 65n7 has been a similar price before. Its a much better TV and worth the wait imo.

    • Agreed

    • What are some cliff notes on differences both advantages and disadvantages?

Trying to decide between these two TV's and their Sony equivalents.

    • Do you mean this year’s 65P7? The N series is last year’s models, zilch chance of getting one now.

I chose/bought the Hisense 65P6 last week from eBay sale for $1340 plus $45 Shopback over this TCL, loving it so far 😬

      • Oh really? Which store on eBay? The only P series I saw that came close to that price was the 65P5.

Wife broke the main TV and finally had an excuse to get a new one, but I'm too tight to pay 2k for the 65P7 and not happy with the P5.

        • It was Appliance Central - myself and another buyer snagged it as soon as the sale started for their listed price of $1785.40 (then minus 25% ebay plus discount), however they pulled the listing straight after I bought mine! I noticed they re-listed it later in the week for a couple hundred more so unsure whether they made a pricing mistake or not, but pretty happy with the price considering JB and Harvey want 2k for them.

got the 75p5 for 1400 from JB 2 weeks ago

        • @ufsta: That's an absolutely insane price, well done.

    • +1

      There is no 65N7 anymore

I bought the Hisense 75p5 for 1400 2 weeks ago from jbhifi

  • Can't understand how gift card could have ended early if still being promoted on TCL website? Where/why are some people saying it has ended?

      • +1

I tried to make a claim on TCL website (haven't purchased yet) but when clicking on "Claim now" immediately received a message saying promo had ended. However, still prominently being promoted on TCL website so may be an error. If the gift card is critical to deciding whether to purchase this TV then should clarify with TCL first.

        • Fyi someone from WP has updated that this has been incorrectly ended and TCL is looking into fixing it soon.

  • Looks like an inferior product to the US version that most reviews relate to, no local dimming and more basic OS.

I was about to pull the trigger last night but Paypal check out failed. Now the $200 giftcard has ended.
The value proposition is not there anymore.

    • +1

looks like you can claim the $200 again

  • What are some great contenders in this category?

65 inch 4K HDR TV for movies, gaming, pc monitor, etc

Also don't want to invest more money or space into a soundbar so sound quality is somewhat important.

Edit: in case anybody was wondering this TV has HDR Premium.

bought one tcl in 2016, the picture quality is worse than my 2009 SONY.

I have this TCL - bought it a few weeks ago for about $1240 then a $200 gift card on top.

Despite on-going issues with fast boot (so boot up takes a bit of time as it loads up android), the TV has been great. Good picture quality, HDR 4K works great. Free to air and PS4 Pro looks awesome.

I'd recommend it. For the price it's a bargain. This is the 2018 model it seems they've upgraded the panels.

The contender to this is the Hisense 65P6 which is around ~$1.7k. I use the TCL in the bedroom and didn't think it was worth paying the extra.

    • How's the sound?

Will probably use some wireless Bluetooth headphones or ear buds for more serious stuff like gaming but for generic YouTube viewing and music does it do the job or soundbar needed?

    • go to the Settings and choose fast boot there, will be turning on almost instantly, I don't have this model but have 65x2us

    • I have the 2017 model and I love it, picture quality is decent and android OS is fantastic. Installed Kodi, Plex, FreeflixHQ, Terrarium TV and It eliminates all the need for other multimedia boxes. Only glitch is the fast boot doesn't work all the time, but this could be fix by a future firmware update.

      1. The sound was fine, not amazing (no TV's are) but it was decent.. After a while I did connect a YAS-107 soundbar to it with HDMI CEC. I did connect my Bluetooth Wireless Bose QC35 to it too and it worked fine which is a big plus, although when HDMI CEC is switched on, I need to turn that off to get the bluetooth headphones going.

      2. I chose fast boot, but it doesn't stick. If I turn it off then turn it on, fast boot works, but if I turn it on the next day for example, it does a full cold boot. Not the biggest issue, but slightly annoying.

      • Would you personally say these are better and worth investing over an aldi or Kogan equivalent because that is basically what I am asking.

I think this or an equivalent Hisense or Sony will be my final decision 75 inch seems too expensive currently and 55 inch is just on the average or slightly small side for me personally having looked at many recently.

65 feels like the sweet spot for a good size and not too much premium over a 55.

Ideally bigger is better but damn the size premium is pretty large on anything above a 58 inch really.

Called TCL as was about to make claim.

They say is a glitch with website and is in process of being fixed.

Great deal ….. double up promo.

  • Apparently we don't get dv in Australia with tcl?

The cashback site is now back open

  • Pull the trigger.
1295-200 gift card -30 cashbacks rewards.
    All up $1065..bargain..
    Thanks everyone.

    • Congrats, I’d say this is a better deal than previous appliance central one, they r slow with delivery and use dodgy courier, over a week now and I’m still waiting for my TV!

      • HLTT I agree I've been waiting and I canceled today. All I heard from them was excuses

        • How do u cancel? I got tracking number already, but its a snail courier

        • I called them and told them I was not happy that I know they had stock but kept not shipping my order

      • Sorry to hear that.
I bought it online. Drove to Tempe and pickup and got it home on the same day. I also grab the voice remote as it was on clearance..

      • That sucks to hear, I ordered on a Thursday morning and received it the following Tuesday in Adelaide. Wish the courier would have contacted me or something but I knew that someone was going to be home all day.

  • Anyone checked if JB HIFI is a participating retailer? Might be able to double dip as they're currently offering a $200 JB HIFI gift card with purchase.
    https://www.jbhifi.com.au/tcl/tcl-p6us-65-4k-uhd-android-led…

    • JB not listed on TLC promo T&C, but I remember seeing the promo in JB store last weekend, not 100% sure. If they are, I'll return mine(ebay plus free return).

    • Called the helpline up and the guy confirmed that JB-Hifi is running a "different" promotion (JB-Hifi gift card) and will not be eligible for this promotion. Unfortunately, no double dipping.

    • no double dip for JB - as they have their own promo which is why they are giving $200 JB gift card

    • Insta buy for me if they did. Highly doubt it.

  • Looks like TGG's offer has been extended to 1 August but the $200 gift card still expires 31/7.

Finally got my tv, first impression, pretty good picture quality for the price, but i got little bit of dark edge at bottom corner, not visible in most video, but still annoying knowing the issue. Software is buggy, instant power on isn’t always working, also had issue with headphone out, require restart to work again.

    • Thanks for the feedback, was about to buy one.. Might wait for a good price to come up on a Hisense instead..

      • I haven’t seen a hisense p5 in store yet, but from jb hifi description, it’s direct lighting, possibly no light leak and dark edge issue like tcl p6. Similar price range. Has anyone compared? My parents has last year’s hisense n7, picture and software design are noticeably better than tcl p6.

  • Main difference between this and a 65P4US?
