Canon EOS 1000D Singles Lens Kit - $482 @ Rick Hart [WA]

100

Seems a reasonable deal, I reckon you could haggle it down a little though.

Unknown expiry,

Interestingly, the pic was taken with a 1000D, what do you reckon? nice depth of field?

  • Might want to put location in title (as there are no stores in NSW, not sure about other states)

    • but they do postage at a reasonable fee.

edit: just realised it was a catalogue deal. there site doesnt have an updated price.

maybe if u call and order you might be able to get it

    that's cheap! :)

    • Ive seen it cheaper with IS, but thats a story for another day!

  • the pic is taken at 50mm at f/5.6 @ ISO500

    thats interesting…

    • good work with the metadata, what other sorts of things are you able to find out?

      • Your address and phone number. Interestingly my metadata shows ISO640 and 1/50sec shutter speed.

Back to the lens - 50mm f1.8? - cheap but pretty good.

The 1000D is only a minor consideration in the depth of field (eg sensor size). The aperture of the lens does makes a huge difference though.

        • probably just the kit 18-55 nonis lens

        • No, and no.

          taken with 18-55mm IS lens

  • Maybe worth waiting for the 1100D. By then the price of this model will nose dive.

    • Correct, however most of the 1000D stocks have dried up all over the place. From the brief scouting around I have done to camera shops/HN/JB hifi etc, RH is one of the last shops to stock the 1000D, so I would say that unless stocks dont sell, this may be as good as it gets.

    • nah mate this one is instore only, not available for this price online.
