  • Has anyone ever used these guys???

  • Always use TID when travelling, no issues.
Had family make a claim through them a few times with no concerns.
    TID0818 - Coupon Code gets updated monthly for 10% off….TID0818 - TID0918 - TID1018 etc.

  • Just checked against my credit union and even with the 10% off this one is dearer. For comparable cover, that’s disappointing. Best deal with insurance is always through companies that don’t heavily advertise.

    • ^this.

also check what the policy actually covers, and the amounts. most are very similar in coverage but choose the one that best suits your travel insurance requirements

e.g. if you are hiring a car then always check what excess cover there is.

  • I used TID for a few years for an annual policy.
Made one small claim (easy process) and the next year the policy price jumped, no explanation when I asked.

So I went elsewhere, Medibank Private, I'm a member there and get a discount and they have other deals as well, especially if you visit a shopfront to renew or take out a new policy, which you pretty much have to do for annual mult-trip policies anyway. Also, I'me 70+ now and choices become more limited/expensive.

    • I guess the implication in your post is that the premium jumped because of your claim. This isn't true and I haven't found a travel insurance that does this- you can check because they don't ask any personal details until after your quote. I don't use TID as they don't cover my Ski stuff well enough, but they did change underwriter a few years back and premiums did jump, so that might be the cause.
