Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising is a game about a fictitious conflict on one of the Sakhalin islands, a conflict that is in danger of erupting onto a global scale. The player takes the role of a US soldier, part of the allied force fighting against outnumbering Chinese forces vying for control of the island.

The game centers on a campaign narrative that gives the player a variety of roles in the allied forces ranging from a Marine Infantry, tank commander, Special Forces and helicopter captain. The game has an incredible realistic depiction of war with careful attention to the detail of the weapons, equipment and tactics of the armed forces. The action is varied from intense fire fights through to slower pace tactical decision making on how to best tackle the mission objectives.

Key Features
Most accessible, engaging and visceral sandbox shooter - Includes over 100 authentically modeled vehicles and weapons and players will be able to control multi-component vehicles including tanks, infantry fighting vehicles, APCs, attack and utility helicopters
Freedom of Play - Players will need to balance brute force with intelligent use of tactics with unscripted missions containing real objectives such as covering a friendly unit's retreat or conducting short-range recon patrols

  • How's Gamesessions compared to Steam and Origin?

I've personally had a lot of issues relating to stability with games through their platform; it crashed so frequently I was lucky to get 5 minutes of gameplay in. But your milage may vary, and for the price of free it's probably worth a try.

As with FuwaSheep - I couldn't even get three of their last freebies to run long enough to get to the 5 minutes (constant crashes). Definitely not always stable.

      Download, play, then pray basically.

  • code masters rubbish, played it 9 yrs ago when it came out, full of bugs couldn't connect to mp online etc medics sometimes would just stand over you and not heal

However will say it was a realistic event when you were shot headshot killed you instantly leg shots disabled you

It was always a great game, I loved it from the beginning.

The ability to jump in and out of vehicles wasnt common back then

  • Played it long enough to keep it and a few mins more. Nothing special. Lots of grind. Bit hard to tell where you're being shot at from.

  • So this has its own dl client outside of steam?

  • How do you tell if has been activated?

    • +1

It basically stops the game you're playing comes up with a little progress bar like it's communicating with their servers, then comes up and says it's activated. You can make doubly sure by going back to the web site and checking your library of games.
