      Amex explorer
My use one of the referral links from the ozbargain referral wiki for 60k bonus points

    • +4

      No fee = Amex Essential.

  • +1

Wow. Just signed up but The app signup process is way too long. Thanks for the deal though OP.

  • Can we use multiple Amex cards under one bp account?

  • +1

Can't believe I missed this! Signed up. Thanks

  • +4

    Max. Limit reached

    • Yep, ozbargained. I got through the sign up eventually but didn't request the offer manually straight away.. Doh!

  • The app doesn't lock in my location. Does anybody else face the same issue?

    • Mine locks, but it keeps saying there's an error when I try and tap the select pump button

      • Same thing happened to me just now… error messages "technical issues…blah blah blah!!! Very frustrating, having made my way to one of the handful such stations in Adelaide, and the app doesn't work…more hassle than it's worth… WTF!!!

        • Just try to chat with Amex they will credit $10 to your statement.

        • @wtfnodeal: thanks but don't think I'll bother with BP anymore. Time wasting company!

  • +1

    Bloody missed!
    Bummer

  • +1

    No longer available.

  • -4

shouldnt it be PBme, since you're being "paid back"?

  • +1

Unfortunately, the maximum number of Card Members have already enrolled in this offer. Please enjoy the other great offers on American Express Connect.

missed out. Time to delete the app

  • +1

Last time I tried to use this, most of the BP gas stations didn't accept it as a payment method… I hope this has been fixed

    • Used to be at the BP owned sites. Now the BPme app works at the smaller BP sites.

  • Thanks OP

  • thanks got it on 2 cards

  • +1

Damn, that was OzBargained fast. 30,000 cards enrolled in less than a day. Solid effort guys.

  • +2

Their app is just so poorly thought out and executed, it's no wonder they have to pay people to use it

    • Agree… can't even check if a servo is BPME enabled, until you're actually there.

  • +1

Expired 24 hours ago can we take this down from being the top deal?

  • Hey guys, do you know if I filled up $30 one time and 50 the other would I get the $10 twice?

    • No. You have to spend $40 each time

      • +1

That’s incorrect, I have filled up less than $40 twice, $25+$15 before and gotten it. Coz my tank is small and I don’t drive a lot. I just don’t know if my example is also true

    • You should. It says 1 or more transactions that means the first and second $40 spend occurred at the same time on your second fill.

    • Yeah the wording is not very clear. Would you be able to get $10 x 2 if you fill up $80 in one transaction?

      • +2

        Hmmmm.
According to the Terms and conditions:
"Save the offer to your eligible Card and spend $40 in one or more transactions"

I would then say that you would be eligible for one $10 spend if you do a single $80 spend. If you did instead a $10 and then a $70, I would think that you would also only get one $10 credit and then would need to cycle the next future set of transactions towards the second "$40 min" min expenditure.

I guess it was worded this way for small cars and motorcyclists.

        • -8

If I spend $80 in 1 transaction I expect $10 x 2 statement credits otherwise will call Amex to argue I have met all the t&c.

        • +1

Save the offer to your eligible Card and spend $40 in one or more transactions, via the BPme app at selected BP locations by 09/10/2018 to receive a $10 credit, up to two times

you spend $40 or more in one transaction and receive the $10 credit
You can do this 'up to two times'

man, their T's and C's are pretty simple…. this isnt an ebay Google Home Mini deal ;)

        • @SBOB: I read you can receive $10 2 times no mention of has to be more than 1 transaction.

        • @wtfnodeal:

then you might want to work on some reading comprehension? or you're just trying to troll?
try breaking up sentences into individual dot points separated by the commas

          • Save the offer to your eligible Card and spend $40 in one or more transactions,
          • via the BPme app at selected BP locations by 09/10/2018 to receive a $10 credit,
          • up to two times

there is no $10 credit.. you can receive a $10 credit up to two times by achieving the first two points…

but whatever, you can argue with Amex over their T's and C's while JV argues with ebay over theirs

        • @SBOB: you should read carefully and differentiate "$40 in one OR more transactions" from "in one AND more transactions". That means for every $40 spend you get $10 credit and max $10 credit is 2 times without restrictions to more than one transaction. Understand?

        • @wtfnodeal:

nope, perhaps learn how commas are utilised

but whatever, you can argue with Amex over their T's and C's while JV argues with ebay over theirs

      • +1

You probably will from past experience but T&C say that you won’t

Iv had 5 lots of offers being triggered in the one purchase

  • +1

    used it today successfully,

the only confusing part was after filling, the app just stays on the start filling screen with no way to complete or go back to the main screen
Ended up quitting the app once I received the payment confirmation and AMEX credit back email

  • Used it twice with no issues. Got both cashback emails.

  • +2

Sat inside the car for 5 mins waiting for the app to log in, gave up and paid inside. The 2.x star average review makes a lot of sense from what I've experienced so far.

    • +1

I find it interesting that people are having issues with BPme. For me, it is working as designed with no hassles activating or paying for fuel

    • -1

You should log in choose pump number before you fill. Once filled, hang the nozzle back up and you should see the app states all done.

      • +1

The first 4 words didn’t happen, which is what my post said. Can’t select a pump if the app sits there displaying a spinning wheel when attempting to login.

        • If the app didn't work you should just drive away. Or at least tell the staff there it was a selected bpme station but the app didn't work when you paid. Anyway go make a complaint to Amex they might just credit you the $10 to your credit card account anyway.

        • @wtfnodeal:

The app not working does not give me the right to just “drive away”. That’s theft. Also don’t see how it’s Amex’s problem, nor can the franchisee do much about it.

          Hopefully it works next time.

        • +1

@Randolph Duke: what are you talking about? Did you fill before or after trying log in? If you found out the app didn't work before you filled how is it stealing and why couldn't you just drive away to the next station? If you filled and later found out the app didn't work that means you did it incorrectly!
And how is the station and Amex not responsible for your inconvenience if you expect the app to work and not bringing any credit card or cash etc with you and in the end you have to drive home to get them and go out to fill up your car again?

        • @wtfnodeal:

What are you talking about? It’s very clear. The app wouldn’t log in, so I couldn’t start the process. I ended up getting out of the car, filling up, then went inside to pay. I don’t see how driving to another BP servo will make the app magically work, nor is my time worth so little to bother. The five mins I sat there watching a spinning wheel were pointless enough.

        • +2

@Randolph Duke: the app doesn't need to be near the station to be able for you to log in at least. So you should try logging in before even you start driving to the station. When the app location shows you are near the selected bpme station you can choose this station and followed by choosing the pump number. I would drive away if I were you as BP fuel in WA is always more expensive than Caltex and not to mention there are at least 2 or 3 Caltex more than every 1 BP almost in every suburb in WA so it won't bother me to drive to another station.

        • @wtfnodeal:

I logged in at home 20 mins earlier. It wanted me to login again at the servo.

You’re constant instructions on how to use the app (it’s not rocket science if you can actually login to it) are not necessary.

        • +1

@Randolph Duke: then there no explanation on why others can use the app as it is designed but you can't if you know exactly what to do. Maybe the app from App Store is different from the app from Google Play? Or that service station is in an internet dead zone? Anyway unless there is something wrong with the internet or your phone otherwise I think BP designed the app and Amex promoted the offer so either of them should be responsible for the inconvenience caused.

        • +1

          @wtfnodeal:

Nothing wrong with either my phone nor internet connection - I was able to get to other web sites without issue. Solely a BPme issue.

        • @Randolph Duke: then make a complaint to BP or Amex. I had once activated 10c off per litre Coles Express offer and at counter the Flybuys card didn't take 10c off as it should. I make a complaint to Flybuys the next day with the proof of ny receipt they credited my Flybuys account with point equivalent of the 10c off saving I was supposed to get. Maybe it is not worth your time but it is worth my time.

    • 0 from 2 so far - very poor experience. Having said that, reinstalling the app and not enabling Touch ID may have sorted it.

  • +3

completely useless app. They've had many opportunities to fix this app since the last promotion and I was hoping it would have improved but not it hasn't. Should change the promotion to you MAY save $10 as you aren't guaranteed that the app will work at all. You'll get stuck with the awkward situation where you need to pay for the fuel you've just dispensed outside of the app and not get the $10 because the app crashed

this app is trying to solve a problem that doesn't exist.

You can't "preload" your order like a maccas or KFC app. You have to be in "range" of the fuel station to even request an order. Instead of walking to pay for it you wait for a stupid app to rotate and rotate, loading, then wait for operator to enable the pump. It doesn't even save you going outside in the cold because you have to fill the fuel anyway. This app just extends your stop time significantly, there is absolutely not benefit other than that you may not need to physically have your card on you. You lose velocity points from using it as well.

Compare it to a situation in a food ordering app, where you can preorder, prepay and just walk up and collect, all while you are EN-ROUTE to the service provider, not while sitting in a car seemingly doing nothing (as observed by other customers)

  • -1

Damn, I got to unsubscribe to this particular post as I keep on thinking that "YAY, Amex has extended the offer so I can start to register my wife's Amex Cards" but no, it turns out to be another person complaining about how bad the App is. :-)

I personally have no issues with the App (iPhone version) and yes, it can sometimes take up to 30 seconds for the app to 'connect' to the local BP station but MEH, I'm getting $10 off my fuel so I will not be complaining.

I will note though that even though I use the BPme App (and only when there is a deal and only for $40 fills at a time), I still end up walking into the BP just to get those $10,000 card competitions so in this case which makes using the app with it's single purpose kind of silly.

Things that would be good to add to the App are:
    * Velocity Rewards
    * Automatic entry to whatever competitions they might have so you do not have to walk into the store

Point to note though is that with the introduction of this App, BP is potentially cannibalising their in-store business (eg. Wild Bean) as those last second or impulse buyers will not get the opportunity to even see that "two chocolate bars for $2" deal or be tempted to get a hot/cold drink in the car.

Makes me wonder what the real market is for the BPMe App in terms of overall revenue for the organisation.

    • It is design for mum and dad with small kids in the car which they dont need to unload and reload their kids to get into the store to pay for petorl.

It open up the market for parent.

      • This is a valid point but I am not aware of or have ever seen a parent unload their car full of 3 babies/kids in order to pay for fuel. It's a fair point but a fairly narrow market IMHO

        • You will get this information if you are in some mother group for new born.

There are mothers talking about how good this is and it become the only petrol station they would go after the BP app lodged last year.

you will need to get some real stat from BP, i think if they are not making money they would not keep it running.

Not to mentioned that they dont have save 4 cents or buy x amount instore for x cents off and not discount gift card nor more saving with NRMA member, therefore their petrol is about 5- 10 % higher than others.

  • +2

My BPme is stuck in the login spinning circle thing, anyone got similar issue lately and any solution?

    • Lots mate, welcome to the club!

    • Close the app and try again

    • Finally managed to login and app picked up the petrol station, then when select pump it says technical error try paying instore
      Facepalm*

      • Disabling Touch ID seems to have resolved for me.

        • Disabling Touch ID just for the app or for the entire phone?

        • @sween64: sorry, the app.

        • @Randolph Duke: Which you can't do without logging in I presume. Unless you delete all fingerprints saved within Settings.app, which I did. And that still hasn't helped. My app is still spinning after tapping log in.

Edit: It finally stopped spinning and I didn't enable Touch ID just to be safe. Thanks.

        • @sween64: Indeed; I deleted the app and reinstalled to get around not been able to login to disable.

  • Thanks OP! Mine works like a charm! Got AMEX confirmed 30s after successful transaction.

  • Just confirming a few things.
It's definitely $40 across multiple transactions?
I saved two cards, used one and split charges $20 $10 $10

However didn't get the credit email.
Plus when I go. Into my amex dashboard it says zero offers saved

    Am I boned?

    • +1

did you save the offers? as your amex dashboard says zero offers saved..??

      • I'm very sure I saved it twice

        Oh well.
My email hasn't come so it looks like I missed out on it :(

        • +1

check if you received the amex email confirmation after registration. if you have that, hit up their customer service line

        • +2

          @inamberclad:

          damn, found the problem,

used a different card to the saved one!

          all good :)

        • -2

@hellohello123: WHAT!?!? You didn't save all your AMEX cards for the BP deal?

          CRAZY! :-)

        • +5

          @danielh:
I'm only going to save enough that I will use

Don't want to save and let others miss out

  • Have we figured out if a single $80 transaction would trigger both statement credits?

    • -1

      Please try and report back

    • -2

Why couldn't you tell the staff at the service station to spilt the payment into $40 and $40 and you swipe or tab your card twice if you want to be 100% sure getting the 2 x $10 statement credits in one fill?

      • Because they can’t swipe or ‘tab’ the card with the BP Me app. The offer is for using the app to purchase fuel …

        • Oh yeah silly me. Forgot it must be an app purchase. I guess he can run the app fill up $40, hang up the nozzle and run the app fill up $40 again yes?

        • @wtfnodeal: they could, but the question here is whether a single purchase of $80 on the app will trigger two credits

        • +1

@kerfuffle: I would say no. It would read the single transaction of $80, give credit for $10 only and ‘reset’ the counter for the next set of purchases that totals up to $40 or more.

        • +1

          @kerfuffle:

they could, but the question here is whether a single purchase of $80 on the app will trigger two credits

it should according to wtfnodeal, they spent many comments arguing the fact earlier in this thread….
but seems they havent gotten around to arguing with Amex yet
          :/

"If I spend $80 in 1 transaction I expect $10 x 2 statement credits otherwise will call Amex to argue I have met all the t&c"

  • Agree that the app sucks. I got an error message, went inside to ask what I should do and the guy told me it was ok, I can drive off which I did and received the receipt in a few minutes. It seems like only a small percentage of BP stations use BPMe and the ones that do are the expensive ones.

  • done 3x. another 3x to go.

  • I think you can actually fill $80 and get $20 credit in one transaction. I split my fill ups into 2x $40 transactions but ended up getting one $20 credit

    • Thanks for the update

      • +1

Can confirm that you will get one $20 credit if you fill up with $80 or more.

        • Great thanks for confirming.

  • Registered successfully but have NOT had success in getting cashback. Anyone else?

    • Nope. You did spend minimum $40 right? And get the e-mail saying you qualified for the credit?
