Im not sure when Fishponds 'week' started.. but its free shipping on ALL orders all week. If it is a normal week being Monday - Sunday.. its quite possible it'll expire either 20/2/11 or 21/2/11. Can anyone confirm?

I see what you mean by Fishpond stating a book is 'in stock' when it really isnt. I ordered a book with them on the 18th that stated it was 'in stock and if you order now it'll be shipped today'. Im still waiting for it to be shipped. Fishpond have told me that because i didnt choose express post and i chose the free shipping method, my book will be sourced from an overseas supplier and they will send me the book. Apparently, if you choose express, they will get it from their warehouse and ship it straight away. It doesnt state on their website that you have to choose express postage for them to ship that day. I agree that they are very misleading. They have altered my arrival dat once already and that was just slight. I also suspect it will be altered at least one more time as they havent shipped it yet and they say it will arrive by the 1st of March.
I've bought from them 4 times. Nothing wrong.
Like I said some people haven't had a problem but a book should not show in stock when it isn't. The book I ordered was still showing in stock even though I had brought to their attention that it wasn't.
The book i want says ships in 6-10 days from USA supplier. Then when checking out it says:
Estimated ship date: 23/2/2011 - 28/2/2011
Estimated delivery date: 25/2/2011 - 5/3/2011.
So at least with this particular book they are stating its getting shipped from a supplier, so it'll take a little while. Hope they keep to their promise.
This is what happened to me but every time the dates passed I received a new email. My book was re-scheduled four different times. Good luck!
I have bought a lot of my photography books from FP and sometimes its taken upto a month to arrive, but this is the nature of the beast,personally i love them. i even bought my ps3 through them. over 20 orders and not one drama.
Isn't free shipping normal for Fishpond? Every time I look at their site over the last few weeks, the "Free Shipping" offer is there.

They've had free shipping since before Christmas.
People should be wary of fishpond. I've had a bad experience with them. I ordered a book which was in 'stock' but it took 6 weeks to arrive. They refused to refund me but then I threatened them with the dept of fair trading and managed to get the refund. The book still arrived a few weeks later, which I then had to return. It took them another 2 weeks to then reimburse me the postage costs.
The problem is that even though say something is in stock it is not necessarily in their dispatch warehouse.
Just read people's experiences, some are good but too many bad ones for me to ever trust them again.
