  • These guys are useless with their bull on all the plastic saving.

  • Have a delivery order coming tomorrow, will try it out!

  • Do this for coffee cups. The 7-11 thing hasn't really worked so far.

Return a coles reusable plastic bag (free atm) to woolworths, for the $1 :)

  • I just pull a box of the shelf as I'm going around now.
Sure, its still more awkward than a free bag but a lot easier with multiple items.

Give us back our bags…! Maybe someday we can cure stupidity #plasticbagchallenge

  • Finally they listened to the complaints. The compulsory bags used for click and collect orders are inferior to the 15 cent bags that they sell. Yet there was no option to remove the $1 online even if you left a note to request them to pack in a crate and that you will bring your own bags. They said that wasn’t possible as they have to use bags.
They advertise that prices online are the same as instore yet charge more for the inferior click and collect bags than if you purchase the same bags instore. Even if they use one bag, you got charged $1.
They must have received a lot of complaints.

The way that this bullshit is perceived is that "single use bags" (which are used more times than not, for something else), are the biggest problem that the world has. All the little sheep follow along thinking that they are doing good.
Reality check neededWE HAVE BIGGER PROBLEMS TO DEAL WITH, THAN THIS CRAP

      I know right….
We should be ranking world problems in order, and tackling them one at a time. We aren't capable of multi tasking, and attempting to resolve simple problems is a complete waste of time…..

It really concerns me that so many Australians are so inflexible, to the point of obnoxiousness, about any attempt to make an effort to improve the environment, and our planet. And not just with plastic bags. Anything that causes the most minor of inconvenience is angrily dismissed, and people routinely tout the bullshit that because Australia is small we don't contribute to the declining planet. People with this attitude should be ashamed of themselves.

Also, for the record, Australia contributes far more to the detriment to the earths environment than it should.
    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Contribution_to_global_warming…

We use 10 million bags a DAY. If you think that doesn't contribute then you're lying to yourself

    • F*** oath. I'm ashamed to be Australian given how this has all gone done. Nation of whingers (yes I concede it's not everyone but you get the idea)

    • I'm still complaining about separating recyclables from rubbish. It'd be so much more efficient to do the sorting by experts at the tip.

      I have no shame.

    • 'Similarly, Australia produces aluminium for export which requires substantial amounts of electricity which is produced by greenhouse gas emitting coal-fired power stations'

Bags mate ? COAL mate Coal is the ozzie disease.

For a nation that prides itself on anti-smoking legislation and control, its hypocrisy about coal smoke is hysterically ludicrous.

      • So let's not fix anything unless we fix everything? Plenty of work is going into trying to get rid of coal too. Just sadly not at government level

  • I like coles because they kept giving away bags. Those that were paid by wooLys to bag them about them that should shut up and do something about the coal industry in oz that owns the pollies.

But its too hard so they just slag off coles and strut their shit doing sweet fa about the real issue in this country. We have sun and wind and do effectively nothing with them while the so called greenies twitter on about bags.

If you wanna do something about protecting the environment in oz you have to take on coal.

Apparently its dry in nsw these days, so its a good job its nothing to do with planet change officially, its just an aberration that we are all paying for until the next one, and the one after that, and the one after that…. and rising ocean temperatures are just normal as well, till all the corals dead and gone, and then it won't need cough cough protection, so that'll be a saving.

    • Let's not fix anything til we've fixed everything.

      • You are not fixing anything by making a fuss about single use plastic bags which were bought in by the supermarkets just to save money.

It was woolworths who introduced them as I remember it. Real problems require brave action to address them and the oz coal industry has become in the light of modern science an abomination which oztralians won't address.

Coal smoke is good for us says oztralia, and the world, so 'breathe deep, breathe high and don't breathe a lie'.

  • I actually don't think it is customers who are complaining to the supermarkets. My guess is they have noticed that people are shopping to the number of bags they have with them and sales are down. They may also have noticed people who may have done a grocery shop on impulse no longer doing so… hence again sales might be down.

Once the Supermarket chains get used to the new shopping patterns I'm sure we will see less about the issue in general.

I just went to one of the smaller Woolworths and at first they said they only are doing the return on the 'grey' bags and didn't want to do my white ones. They thought about it more amongst themselves and said something like they'd go ahead and do it anyway. Then here's where I made a mistake - I had 12 bags with me - which they counted for some reason - then they asked me "is this all from one order?" and foolishly I said "this is from two". So they processed a return for $2. Really wishing I had taken the risk of saying it was from 5 or even 12 orders.

    • So you dont need to prove you actually did the order?

      • That's why I commented, to let folks know. Perhaps I just got lucky, perhaps others will have to prove each individual order. But if not…cash money my friend. They are paying cash money for these bags

    • Thanks for this.

Picked up our order today and to return the bags.
Had 5 bags with me and just asked if they were only returning $1 or if they’d do all 5 at once (genuinely had ordered 5 times). Was no problem and I’ll get to finish using them up as bin bags.
Didn’t count bags or check online orders.
