Great.. now Gerry is going to campaign for a new tax on Costco to level the playing field. :(

    • Gerry should try to learn from competitors instead of witch hunting anyone.
This is the basic of business, observe your competitors and find an alternative way to fight them, yes Gerry found it with the help of corrupted tio.

  • Depends if you want it or not, but this soundbar doesn't support DTS-X. It also doesn't support Atmos over ARC.

  • Have this soundbar setup in my apartment. Works great but does have a few issues that are annoying, like the soundbar shutting off after 5 minutes of no sound being played through it (not good if you pause a movie and do something for a moment). Also no DTS-X, the atmos is pretty good though.

Occasionally from time to time my Samsung tv wont detect it either and I have to turn it all off at the wall for a few minutes and turn it on again so it's all in sync.

The rear speakers could be a bit more louder too.

  • Excuse my ignorance but with this $1,800 rrp couldn't you buy a good hi-fi speaker system?

    • Generally you buy a soundbar for convenience or due to lack of space for full size

An atmos setup will easily set you back $5000-$10,000.

Its why the debate continues, a $2000 soundbar vs a $10,000 proper setup.

A soundbar will always give the illusion of a proper setup and never be it, but for many that's enough.

illusion of a proper setup and never be it

Haha that's it I knew it's about marketing.
This kit features 5 components: the bar you install on top of the TV; two satellite speakers and one sub speaker but people talk about convenience and saving space? LOL
I believe that a pair of 5" or 6" good quality powered speakers do the job and you can save a lot of money!

    • Yes correct. Nothing beats a full surround setup, you get fully immersed. With a soundbar it’s features (atmos) does the job but u don’t get the same feeling or sound quality

  • I tried this soundbar in 2016, my thoughts of this unit may differ but..

The rear speakers are notorious for humming and giving off a high pitched noise, meanwhile remain very faint.

The soundbar itself is good despite the notorious sync issues.

After 4 days I returned it back to hardly normals for a refund, upgraded to the ysp-2700.

  • N950 coming out later this month too will blow this one away
