  • Interesting. What's the difference between a HDMI cable and this one (with Ethernet)?

    • +5

(politely) the more relevant question is "does anyone know anyone who has ever used the standard's Ethernet carrying facility?"

      • (politely) nvm.

      • I have been able to find a grand total of one device that supports this. So unless someone bought two of them, no

  • Thanks OP, would this cable be a version greater than HDMI 2.0? it says "transfer speed of up to 27Gpbs" (Gbps?). Looking to future-proof myself as I am thinking about getting an xbox one x.

    • According to the internets HDMI 2.0 is up to 18Gbits.

      • Sounds like this will support 12 bit colour, 4k @60Hz and more. Feel free to correct me as I am pretty new to cabling tech.

        • you would hope so if it can really go 27Gbps, my rule is, just buy it and try. Not like i need 4k@60hz.

The problem with claims like 27Gbps is where is it verified that it can work at those rates?
Outside of the official HDMI certification standards any claims of increased bandwidth are dubious.
The official HDMI certification standards are:
          Standard Speed HDMI = 4.95Gbps
          High Speed HDMI = 10.2Gbps
Premium High Speed HDMI = 18Gbps
Ultra High Speed HDMI = 48Gbps

    • +2

No this cable is not future proof, the latest HDMI v2.1 standards require cables upto 48Gbps referred to as Ultra High Speed HDMI.

Aldi just days ago had this **premium* cable in the catalog and you can still find it for around $10.

Unless this cable is Premium HDMI certified it is overpriced, if it does have Premium HDMI certification than the price is reasonable for a b&m store.

Premium certified cables can be found cheaper than this one.

Premium certified cables can be found cheaper than this one.

I knew the one being advertised here $19 price is still a overpriced RRP price.

  • I bought one and the box says up to 21Gpbs - all the other boxes did too (I made sure the model number matched the website).

  • Any reviews on the keyboard?? Can’t find much info on it
