375 Joule surge protection. <20ns response time. Not good. Its a cheap powerboard with USB sockets, daisy chain it off a real surge protector if you are worried.

    • Yeah, Pretty sure a cyber-power(https://www.cyberpower.com/au/en/product/sku/CPSURGE08-ANZ) or any brand surge protector has 10times the Joule surge protection and usually <1ns response time for similar price and connected device warranty.

    • Other than crappy surge protection; does this look like a good product? I want a cheap powerboard with USB ports for my parents.

      • lol haha.. get them something that will save them in the event of disaster.. the extra spent to save on less headache will be well spent unless you don't mind trouble shooting and dealing with the aftermath in case of emergency

but honestly just get any cheap one from bunnings or ebay and be done with it if you don't care about surge protection

I have personally never experienced a surge

        knock on wood

  • hmm 375 joules actually seems better than many on the bunnings website ie HPM with only 150 joule rating

    • Yeah but a 20ns clamping time means the surge is going to hit your device before the protector kicks in…
