    • I tried chat too, they would only offer the online deals, said i suggest you go to the store. I kept saying that is not possible i want to do this online with you and the rep wouldn't budge.

    • Every store in QLD will do it

  • +1

Damn looks like the 100gb deal is gone today!!! Now replaced with 200gb for $145/month NO $20 DISCOUNT!

    • Still there?

    • Did you order it, the deal is still active.
I can see it in optus website.

    • i just left HN Taren Point and got the 100gb deal… comes to $84+7(for note 9) $91 a month.

  • Bugger, $20 discount is gone

  • +1

The discount is still there, but it only works for other phones with offer tag!. Not Note 9. Don't know why.

    Check the link
    https://www.optus.com.au/shop/mobile/phone-plans?dclid=CLvjr…

    • Oh, interesting…

    • Just asked the online chat
Q: "Is the $125 100GB plan available with the Note 9?"
      A: "No"
Looks like they've caught wind of it :P

      • +1

I went into an optus store and it was still available on their retail page thing they have on all devices. I said its not online, so he used his phone and yes no luck. Off he goes to tell people with power.

  • +2

I went in yesterday and locked in a 100gb plan w/$20 discount. Thank god I did because the deal ended today and I only ported my number today. $91 per month for the Note 9 512gb storage, 8gb RAM, with 100gb data and 4gb roaming.

Absolute steal if you can afford it.

    • You get an extra 5gb of data so 105gb

Struggle town at HN Warrawong. Coming back tomorrow when the 'Optus expert' is in.

    • Goto the domayne, they will offer the same

      • Great tip, sitting here in Domayne Warrawong now. The guy knew the 100gb deal, no time wasted, straight to it.
Never heard back from HN. Avoid.

      • Hi Farque some of the HN stores gives gift cards and phone cases?

  • +4

I can confirm it is still available at HN auburn. Signed up today. Thanks OP

Guys the $20 discount never showed on the website when you chose the note 9. But the $125 plan with $20 discount is still on the website as a phone plan. The terms and conditions for the plan refer to any phone so there's nothing stopping you from adding a note 9. I can confirm this was the case on the weekend and the Optus reps we're well aware that this offer could be had with the note 9. If you get a rep who isn't across this I'd suggest you call back and speak to someone else, ofcourse with the harvey norman rep present so you can get the 20% port in credit.

    • Where are the terms and conditions for the $20 off Plan?

      • +1

Look for the "critical information summary" link at the bottom of the plan details. It will bring up a word doc that has all the T's and C's. I showed this to the harvey norman rep before he called optus who confirmed the plan worked with the Note 9.

  • This deal is still going, not sure why it says its expired?

    • +1

have updated, yesterday it was removed from optus website now back on

    • still going, just signed up today at HN Taren Point.

  • Went to Harvey norman and was told the 20% off is not applicable with the plans in purple. Is this the case?

    Tnx

  • Nice guy at HN Fountain Gate
$105 plan still on the system

    • Did you get 20% off on top of it?

  • +3

I ported today at the Richmond VIC store with the 100gb plan. The guys knew what I wanted. Not advertised anywhere. Activation/porting was done almost instantly whilst I was still at the desk. They forgot to tick the box to give me the 20% off but said they'd update it later and email me confirmation. Pickup of the phone will be in store and should be on the day. They just put up their real demo phone today.

    • Well done mate.

      • Can you confirm if your paperwork indicated there is a $20/month discount? Mine doesn't.

        • It wont but will reflect on your bill. So long as the "20% offer" is printed on the front page

        • @farque:
          Ok cool
My paperwork was amended to add the 20% off.

          Shows:

Total minimum cost over contract term(s) $3000.00

        • @julz: The rate plan needs to be $105 my plan plus ($125 promo aug 18) - You'll need to give them a call and flag it with them to fix

        • @julz: I don't see that on my documentation but mine has the 105 plan instead of 125 like yours - the guy said if it's not applied when I get the bill to call as its in a comment/note in the Harvey Norman system

On my Application Customer Authority Form I have a table with:

          Recurring monthly costs:
          $105 My Plan Plus ($125 promo Aug 18) $105
          Samsung Note 9 512 $74

          One off costs:

Nothing mentioned about the 20% off

        • @farque: thanks I seem to always have issues with Optus. Had sign up issues with my iPad pro last time.

        • @farque:

Just spend 30mins talking to Optus web chat. They claim that they can't do anything and I need to return to Harvey Norman to get it fixed. I've emailed Harvey Norman Richmond and will give them a call tomorrow. The Web Chat transcript I received via email has also been redacted to remove the bloody plan fees I quoted!! FFS. Anyway if this doesn't get resolved I guess it's another TIO complaint coming from me. Second time with Optus.

        • @julz: Its an easy fix for the store mate, stress less. You will never pay that wrong amount, they just need top email their rep to fix it. The plan looks very similar so sometimes it happens.

        • @farque:
Thanks for the reassurance, I'll give them a call.

  • I'm just back from HN (somewhere in Brisbane) and I'm currently with Optus. I said to the guy I'll just buy a SIM and port in. He said they were monitoring that and that the number must have been active before the offer period (the 20% off)started. Others claiming port in out?

  • I went to HN at Fortitude valley, Brisbane around 5.30 pm today. The sales person knew about it and he offered me the $91 deal [(($125-$20) - 20%)+7 = 91] It took him only about 15 minutes to do all the paperwork and port my number from Vodafone to Optus. He told me that I could pick the phone once I receive a call from them after 24th. They also have the real phone on display and I was able to see and feel the phone before I chose the colour. Although HN had the copper colour, I was only able to choose either blue or black since that's what Optus has on offer. Not sure whether we could change the colour after 24th.

Managed to get the Note 9 yesterday at HN City West (Perth) on the $125 plan at $91. I don't even know what to do with so much data, feel like a criminal.

  • +1

Also managed to get the Note 9 yesterday at HN Taylors Lakes (Melbourne) on the $125 plan at $91 per month with unlimited calls and 100gig data per month etc :). ($125-$20 optus discount) - 20% HN discount) +7 handset) = $91
Note: you need an existing plan even prepaid with another non optus carrier I just bought and activated a $2 Telstra sim pack as you need to provide Harvey rep that mobile number

Couldnt port my main number of course as on contract with Optus so will now have 2 optus sim/plans (the second sim can go into my Note 4 or in my draw) but whats great with Optus postpaid you can share data between 2 sim card plans, dont want to get rid of my main number so when contract is over next March I'll drop it too the the cheapest postpaid plan at $25 actually there is an optus special for a second postpaid sim for a family member (or yourself) for $15 a month it's the $25 plan for $15 through Optus directly which is not on there website so call them (again you can share data between 2 optus sim plans)

I easily can use my current Optus 50gig data plan so 100gig data will be helpful as why I use alot of data is I dont have home internet and i dont think I'll ever get home internet as love having my data mobile and can be used anywhere, home internet isn't cheap either if you want a plan with lots of data

I think both deals ends on the 2/9/2019

  • +1

Just got home, worked for me at HN Taren Point. $125 minus $20 disc and 20% off for porting number over plus $7 for note 9. Optus will send out phone on Friday. Big Thank you to OP for deal. Perfect timing.

    • Do let us know when you get it as my HN store sales rep couldnt tell me when my Note 9 would be sent

  • HN Aspley QLD store - called today and they confirmed the deal is available. Ported my two numbers with $91 deal. Number porting is done within 5-10 minutes. Got a written confirmation via email for $91/month.

  • Any Stores in VIc Melbourne offering this , I called the QV store and they simply dont know about this deal.

    • +1

Should of asked for a manager.. think all stores should be offering it.. just try the next closest store to you, ends Wednesday for the note 9 512gb deal

      • Thanks RogueWolf for your reply, appreciated. Was wondering if any one in Melbourne already got it form a store then it will be easier for me to approach that store directly, rather then wasting time on a store like QV who don't know much about this deal.

          @julz:

          HN Taylors Lakes

  • Can anyone explain how the 20GB plan works out to $84?
Seeing as its an $85 plan, if you take 20% off that and add the $20 phone repayment I seem to get $88!

    • It is not 84, it is $91. You have to pay 7 more for the handset. Just 7 posts above you Italkdigital wrote

Also managed to get the Note 9 yesterday at HN Taylors Lakes (Melbourne) on the $125 plan at $91 per month with unlimited calls and 100gig data per month etc :). ($125-$20 optus discount) - 20% HN discount) +7 handset) = $91

      • I saw that and that makes sense for the 100GB plan. But in the title it says $84 for 20GB.

        • Only the 100gig plan has the $20 optus discount (it's on optus website), you only get the HN 20% discount for porting over from a non optus carrier, so for extra dollars to get 80gig more is more worth it then the lower gig plans, well 100gig helps if you dont have home internet like I do :)

  • When does the deal end?

    • I thought the deal ends on the 2/9/2019 but looking at the optus website states the $20 discount for the 100gig plan ends 2/9/2019 but someone above post states it ends today Wednesday, I actually asked the HN sales rep about this he said the deal could end any day maybe he was talking about the HN porting 20% discount, I guess give both Optus and Harvey Norman a call too confirm this,……..

  • Has anyone try their luck at HN Sunshine? Who should I ask for and how do I mention about the deal?
    Cheers

    • Show them this Ozbargain deal that's what I did otherwise drive too HN Taylors Lakes were I got my Note 9

  • I wonder if Harvey Norman have the phones in store now? I'd presume so? Wondering if I can go pick mine up today

  • Called Harvey Norman before and they don't have the stock yet but expect it tomorrow for the official release date

    • Interesting!
I was wondering the same thing - thanks for confirming

  • I was able to get the Note 9 on the plan as advised at the Richmond store. Waiting for availability for pick up. Thanks to everyone.

    • I thought the deal has finished yesterday?

      • Yea. I got it yesterday, before it ended, I guess.

      • Well, the deal ending yesterday is actually the free upgrade to 512GB from Samsung. HN says their 20% off deal was extended till 26 August.

  • After I spoke with QV and they confirmed with Optus representative, I was able to get the deal from Melbourne QV yesterday. I was also told that the phones are actually with them already but they could not give them out till today, which is fair enough.

    • Yea, same thing I was told (about the phones being with them already).

  • Has anybody got a call saying it's ready for pickup yet?

    • +1

Got the call my phone arrived.

      • Just got my Note 9 (24/8/2019 ~11am) delivered to my home through Australia post :)

I ordered the blue one too with the yellow pen

Ordered through HN Victoria Taylors Lakes

        • oh awesome!
I had to call my store (Fountain Gate) and the guy is like, oh, yeah it's ready…

        • @lachlanww: So why are some phones being delivered by Optus and some to be collected from Store. Also whoever collected the phones from the store is it the Hybrid Sim version (XSA) or the Optus branded one single sim (OPT)

        • @regenade:

Ive never heard of Hybrid Sim version (XSA) or the Optus branded one single sim (OPT)

What's the difference and how can we tell of the difference between the 2 sim types?

        • @regenade:

When I signed up for this deal HN sales rep said it would be delivered (no pickup available) also he forgot to ask optus sales rep over the phone when signing up to activate a optus simcard on the day at Harvey Norman I guess the sim is in the delivered bundled box with the note 9 I haven't as yet opened up lol

Ps my pre ordered Note 8 from 12 months ago has screen burn thank God for samsung warranty told would be fixed in 24 hours

    • Yea, I was called too for pick up this morning.
But received another call that the colour I requested (blue) was not available, I may have to just get the black.

      • Who ever got there Note 9 and opened up the packaged box, can anyone confirm there is no Optus branding at all on hardware and software even the default browser the home page is not set and locked to optus website cheers

ps hope you all get your Note 9's soon :D

  • No idea, the guy said no delivery and pickup only. Apparently the single SIM variant is available from carriers but the hybrid sim (dual sim/sd) is only available from retailers (so buying 'outright')

I also got ported and got a SIM the day of sign up - received the phone only today

The phone has no branding on it whatsoever.
When setting up, it did say installing carrier applications and installed the my optus app, but that's it. I haven't seen the optus logo anywhere

    • Great to hear there is no Optus startup/shutdown logos how about the default samsung internet browser is the home button page or startup page of browser locked to optus homepage? Can you also remove the my optus app or has option to uninstall?

The sim I got which was delivered with the Note 9 today is the multi type simcard which will go into my Note 4 :)

Selling my Note 8 on ebay why I haven't opened my Note 9 as yet might try the Note 9 also on ebay just for the fun of it at a ridiculous price lol

      • Nope, none on mine.
I don't use the Samsung browser, but haven't seen the logo when I used it before working out how to use Chrome (first Samsung for me!)
Yes, uninstall shows in the Play store for Optus

      • Update:
The phone had a software update, ever since then and I have rebooted there is an Optus logo 'yes' on boot and shut down

  • Trade in for my Note 8 at a samsung store for the Note 9 is $575 nearly a third what I paid for it at last years presale for the Note 8 lol can imagine how much these 512gig Note 9's will devalue in 1 years time, pain of upgrading every year for latest and greatest mobile phone lol

Anybody else get there Note 9 today or planned pickup tomorrow?

  • Picked it up already yesterday from Harvey Norman QV.

  • Can anyone confirm if the phone from Optus is Dual or Single Sim?

    • Single only

      • That’s sad. I was gonna grab the phone tomorrow.

        • Dual sim Samsung Galaxy Note 9 512GB $1499 Delivered @ Mobileciti eBay
          Ozbargain link:
          https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/398839?utm_source=newslett…

Though aren't the dual sim versions grey imports? And are not covered by Samsung Australia warranty and mobile needs to be sent overseas to the country from were it was imported from, though Mobileciti eBay states the dual sim Note 9 there selling is Australian stock wonder, so wonder if its covered by Samsung Australia I.e. Australian warranty, interesting anybody have any opinions on this?

Gonna message Mobileciti eBay about this, would love a dual sim version but warranty concerns me though also I think if you place 2 sim cards in these dual sim Note 9s you take up the space were the expandable memory card goes so you can't insert a memory card :(

edit: there website states 2 years Australian warranty
          https://www.mobileciti.com.au/warranty

        • @Italkdigital: if you get the 512GB then you should be fine with the dual sim

  • Anyone with the 100gb plan showing 200gb in their account?

  • Student discount applied! Win! Another 10% off.

    • How did you manage that? I was declined?

      • Web chat. Dunno if it will really b applied although I've save the transcript from two chats. Today's chat credited me $10.50 for the current bill

        • Is your plan 105? That's 10% of plan 105 not 84.

        • @AirJordan23: I'm on the 100gb plan to own the phone. So $125 - $20. Then also 20% off. They didn't know about the 20% off

        • @julz: Alright, I thought you have the 20% as well from Harvey Norman. So your plan is $105
          $105 less (10% - $10.50) = $94.50. Am I right?

        • @AirJordan23: well I'm hoping it is $125 - $20 - 20% - 10%. For the manual 10% credit he stuffed up and did 10% of $105. At the moment I was charged $91 without student discount. Hoping to get a further 10% off the plan so $91 - $7 = $84 * 90% = $75.60+$7= $82.60 with all discounts

        • @julz: you didn't get the regional plan of $145-40= 105x(0.8 - via HN discount) = down to 84 without the device payment of 7
