  • Note, you cannot have both SIMs active at the same time in this model.

    • Only one SIM card is active at a time
you right, this in that case is crap.

    • What's the point of making it dual-sim but can only use 1 at a time?

    • +3

So you can change SIMs without opening the case.

    Thats the normal price:

    No bargain here.

$89.00 is the normal price, seems like you to have found a bargain at $49.00

      • The RRP is meaningless. If multiple stores are selling this phone for $49, then that is the "normal price".

        • +2

Well help out and list those stores and maybe since you know this, what are the postage costs etc as that would help determine if this is cheaper or not. This is a sharing community. If you go to the trouble of hitting a deal, please give some details at the same time. That helps everyone.

  • I have also seen it less than 49 dollars at Harvey Norman Boxing day sale.

  • There are few stores selling it for this price and I've also seen it for less. Not a bargain since this is in line with the standard market price.

  • I saw this phone overseas for just $25, thats half price, and that was the original Nokia made, not a duplicate model, would not give it a positive or -ve either…….

    • Again - site please or was it during travels. This info helps more

  • Is there a phone that can have both sims active at once?

    • don't think so

    • yes there is, they are generally chinese phones with iffy build quality and crappy operating systems
but they do the job and handle 2 sims well
there are two sets of ANSWER and END CALL buttons, one for each sim usually

      • I believe some of the bigger brand names have got high end dual sim models.

I was ready to buy on of these C1-00's a few weeks ago and then found out that both sims aren't simultaneously active. That really kills the purpose of dual sim for those of us who have got work and personal phones and need both sims active simultaneously. I suppose the right technology will eventually become affordable.

        • Wait for Nokia C2-00, supposed to have been released last Dec.

        • Essentially a SIM switching phone is a hack. It's still of some use to people who use SIMs at different times or one seldom. There are some SIM adapters that do this sort of thing but you end up with a fat SIM that might not fit in some phones.

A true dual SIM phone would require two of everything, e.g. transceiver portion, except for the shared bits like audio.

I suspect they are not sold much in Australia because providers like to tie customers to their plan and you only need one SIM to do that, so such phones are not subsidised.

  • can someone recommend a decent true daul sim phone?

  • Does it come with Windows?
