Reviews are bad. I think I'll stay away from this one.

From one of the reviews "The only downside is that there is no option to record the video feed."

    Whats the point then?

Yep i bought a swanone wifi IP camera and the only way you could get it to record was to pay a $15/mo subscription. I even cracked it open and put a microsd card into its hidden slot. Still wouldnt record.

So you have to pay a subscription, and in addition to that, the detection and alerts are pretty iffy. I sent it back because the advertising said you could record.

  • It does day in the spec that you can record to hub or cloud. Is there a subscription thing. That would be annoying. With such poor reviews its probably not worth it.

I've owned Swann. Run run run.

  • Have one. Do not recommend.

  • It is a OK system, but you will need a siren to make a complete security system, mine won't connect to wifi, have to connect to LAN cable or use the remote controller, overall it's rubbish on full price, it's OK with this price, I got a siren from officeworks for $40.

  • Reviews sound terrible

  • Piece of crap. Stick to baby monitors Swan.

  • I work in electronic security and Swann is the butt of most of our jokes.

Its kind of like a toy system, if you want security, pay that little bit extra for something that works.

  • What products do you suggest instead of this? I am looking to get something for my home and appreciate your help.

Arlo for wireless, Hikvision for wired POE.

      • Just keep in mind the disadvantages of cloud storage. The Arlo uses low bitrates and a lower resolution to make cloud storage feasible so the recorded video is pretty poor compared to a good Hikvision wired setup.

Of course, the Arlo is much easier to set up and will typically have a much easier app than a Hikvision NVR or Milestone, so it depends on what's more important for you.

      • Always go hard wired, any $20 jammer can take down your wireless system (and you better believe people have them!)

Im currently using the Hikvision at my place

        • I use both for redundancy.

  • I have this and the swan cloud system. Bought the SwannOne three years ago when it was around 500ish. The system end to end has bugs that still have not been addressed. Majority of the features in the app have to be turned on with subscription payment. The external hard drive feature is disabled in the hub.

I am looking at the Swann NVR 4k system though lol… wired of course. Hopefully, these bugs don't exist in their NVR/DVR systems.

This is not worth the money, I have since replaced it with Xioami setup and now looking at moving to NVR.

    • Wait you bought this and the cloud system, and your still going to buy another swann product.

      Really…….

No offense but its swann run, before you give them anymore money

      • user M9 above mentioned above they use Hikvision. Swann is rebranded Hikvision, I think they all come from Hikvision, rebranded, restricted and sold. The hardware is good, it's the software restrictions swann place on it to make money, and those restrictions sometimes introduce bugs. I am hoping the NVR can be used natively without Swann, or Swann have not stickytaped unwanted things around it…

I am still researching and don't have the answer :-)
