Dell XPS 13 i7 8th Gen 8GB Ram 256 GB SSD for $1699.95 @ JB Hi-Fi

Found this at the local store. Available online too . Yes the eBay deal of Dell is about $20 cheaper. But having to wait for a month might not work for some . I needed it urgently, so this works

  • Why do you need waiting a month from Ebay? I have got mine after a week…

I don't see a deal here. I ordered this laptop two weeks ago from some ebay deal. The dell XPS 13 inch has been consistently less than $1500 for two years through numerous ebay deal which takes only 1-2 weeks to deliver. I also asked my local JB-HI-Fi if they could do any better before ordering on ebay and they said no.

Same specs ? Brand new and immediate purchase ? There might have been xps at 1500$ for 2 years but not this one.
I7-8550 was released a year ago.

I believe this is an Ok deal. Agree with the comment below tho. 8GB may feel a bit limited for this kind of hardware.

    • Xps 13 has never been under $1500 consistently or otherwise, even for i5 model. This one is i7, though it doesn't specify whether it's 9360 or 9370 and what screen it comes with. Jb site isn't loading for me.

  • Hmm…8GB Ram for this price

Depends what you use it for. Video/media editing then yes. Otherwise no.

Dell Inspiron screen is really terrible, especially the ones with TN screen instead of IPS.

Galaxy Note 9 has same amount of ram at 8GB, double the storage at 512GB and is $200 cheaper.

Who said the Note 9 was overpriced LMAO :P

https://www.ozbargain.com.au/node/378361, This Deal back in May was the best less than $1300 for the i7 16GB/512GB

    • Inspiron is their budget model whilst XPS is the premium offering. Whilst internals may be the same, there would be a difference in build quality, weight, and battery life (items I care about).
If you didn't care, that certainly is a great deal.

  • does anyone know if this is model 9370 or 9365/9360?

    • 9360

  • $1700 for a notebook without a discreet GPU is not a great deal IMO.

yea i heard this video card will tell all ur web browsing secrets to the power supply

  • Not sure if this is a good deal when you can get something similar from Dell outlet for cheaper price regularly.

  • $1,609.00 - saving $90.95 and also better specs

Worth noting that if you buy from Dell, you also get dell advantage credit toward future purchases. This is expected to be about $100 in free credit. You get it from eBay purchases as well.

To be honest whilst XPS build quality and externals look great, the Dell quality controls is hit and miss.

    • Yeah the previous model XPS 13 had some pretty terrible coil wine.
