Scanner for Docs Pro is an application that allows you to identify text in images. It can recognize any text, even if the image has not so good quality. You can do lot of your tasks with text easier and faster. With this app you can collect the desired text info from scanned books, magazines, brochures, any advertising images, etc. Just select an image, scan the text and save as a .txt or .docx file. Scanner for Docs Pro is the easiest way to get the text from any image!

      The 1 star and 2 star review states "A scanner that doesn't use your connected scanner. Hmmm, seems to be missing something!"
      Hardly valid when this is an OCR tool

  Its still free as of 05:56 AEST.

  BTW in Windows if you have the desktop version of OneNote installed, you can use it for OCRing. Its not meant for industrial/large scale OCR, but thought I'd mention as an option.

  On the website it says Free, but in the store app it shows a discounted price of $1.49, but not free.

  Edit: The difference appears to be related to whether or not I'm logged in, if not logged in it shows free on the site, logged in it shows a price.
