The price is assuming you are an existing customer and therefore get a $10 per month discount.
Telstra 32 gb with 2gb of data is $29. 128gb model for $34 per month for 24 months or $816. Which is $17 more than retail and includes data.
Talk to chat and get a 5gb bonus. It’s what I did. Would rather Telstra network. Helps me with work when I don’t have reception on my Optus phone.

Telco's only sell the Cellular models… for obvious reasons.
I think Optus only sells the ones with Data.

Seems like a great deal to me, especially if you already have an Optus data pool with a fair bit of data in it.
What is optus data pool? If I pay monthly for the phone, unlimited calls and smses and 20gb of data, can I use that "phone's" data for this iPad? Apart from tethering/creating a hotspot out of my phone.
The data is shared, so if you add this to your phone you will end up with a 23GB pool of data that either device can use as much of as they like

Why does it say new? Was it refreshed with the iPhones? I can't find nothing online.
Just a heads up to anyone considering this deal, ordered the 128gb version with 10gb data for $35 p/m after $10 discount about three weeks ago and still haven't received it yet. Been told they are still getting stock.
