One of my favourite Australian honeys. Comes from a unique Eucalyptus tree found in Western Australia and only blossoms in summer during December and January once every 2 years.

Goes well with a tea, on toast or simply on a spoon. Dark coloured and tastes like caramel. I've just stocked up.

This honey is made by bees.

and then heated by humans … which kills beneficial enzymes

  • How does it compare with Hanuka Honey?

    • Did you mean Manuka honey?

While components in mānuka honey are studied for their potential antibacterial properties in vitro, there is no conclusive evidence of medicinal or dietary value other than as a sweetener. Only the high price make you feel it is a premium honey

        • Thank you wt860

        • Actually what you say is false.

Antibacterial properties of Manuka Honey are not potential but fact.

Can be used to treat skin infections, close wounds and treat fungal infections. Some studies indicate that once ingested the antibacterial properties don't reach the stomach thus making it only useful as topical.

Nothing compares to the rich, creamy thick taste of Manuka Honey though.

        • Too much sweet

      • Yes, Manuka honey

How do the bees know to just get nectar from Jarrah trees to make this honey? What do they do for the 22 months between Jarrah flowering? Are they just lazy bastards?

    • They dance and party. (Seriously they do dance and flap their wings to cool and heat honey to stop it from oozing from the hive)

They protect their queen and harvest.

      Oh and occasionally feast.

A bee keeper ensures not to take all the harvest.

Bees are very social and extremely smart creatures.

  • Thanks Op! I forgot about CW & Shipster

What makes a honey more "Active" then another honey?

    • This honey is 300% all natural and the honey was extracted from the bees whereas most honeys crush the bees (while they scream in pain) to get out the sweet goodness, so it's perfect for vegans.

And even though honey is for all intents and purposes basically sugar, it is somehow perfect for people that share anti-sugar images on facebook. But not capilano or anything else a regular family can afford. It has to be active honey.

The sounds like a wet dream for vegan/hipster/Insert other new age persona
