ALDI Toilet Suite (Nu at Home Brand) $199 Including Installation - Clearance Item, Stock Varies

180

As per a previous deal, in June Aldi stores across Australia were selling a full toilet suite (bowl, cistern, seat) and installation for $299.

Bunnings countered with a similar deal.

As a result, a lot of Aldi stores have unsold toilets. They are now running them out at $199 down from $299.

The toilets are full ceramic bowls and cistern (not plastic). They also come with a soft close seat. These toilets can be installed in homes within 50km of an Aldi store.

$199 for that is CHEAP.

Stores I have visited recently that have stock include:

Hornsby NSW
Salamander Bay NSW
Raymond Terrace NSW
Warners Bay NSW
Hamilton NSW
Westleigh NSW
Newcastle NSW

Your Aldi store may have lots of stock or none. I have an unconfirmed report that some stores are selling for $149!

To give you an idea, a lot of plumbers would charge $300 or more just for installation of a toilet suite/removal of old one. That is labour only - the actual toilet suite would be an additional cost.

If you buy a toilet at Bunnings, they can install it for you - at an additional cost of $275 on top of the toilet suite (their suites start at $70)

From the Aldi Nu At Home FAQ:
Q. Are there any extra costs?

A. This product includes the toilet suite and professional installation. Occasionally, there will be some additional services required for your new toilet. The most common extra services include: a new hose ($5), a new tap ($5), removal of old toilet suite ($30), concrete removal ($25). Our professional installers can supply these at the time of install if necessary. They will only supply these services if they are required for compliance for a safe install and you agree to them.

Are you an Aldi groupie ?

    • We wanted some red placemats that they were selling a few weeks ago.

      Were searching for them.

Didnt get the placemats but did get a toilet and also the front loading washing machine stand along with various other bits and pieces.

I usually just buy some chocolate when they don't have what I'm looking for…

        • Eggs for us.

The placemats were nice. The missus wanted them badly so I tried hard….

      • You can call customer service and they will check stock for you. It’s quicker if you have the SKU code.

I have been to about 6 Aldi stores in the past week. Looking for the $1 burger sauce I bought from one store a couple of weeks ago that they don't seem to sell at any other stores.

There are Aldi's everywhere so I just stopped in to check in passing…

I guess that makes me a Groupie too :)

  • Hi OP, do you have one of those? Any reviews?
    I'm really interested.

    Cheers

    • I bought 2 when it was 200/unit. No issue with installation both toilets work well. I got charged $10 for 2 new hoses. The online installation booking was easy and it took about 1.5 hours to install both toilets. Good buy, no issue, quick and easy installation.

    • I have read some bad reviews on Whirlpool - but a lot are from 1 or 2 post users which suggests at least some were just plumbers angry with losing profits.

Plumbers DO NOT LIKE these because they hurt their revenue.

A fair complaint is it will be hard to get parts for them.

My 25 year old Caroma has a plastic cistern that is cracked and faded. The cistern alone costs over $200 to replace (parts cost alone).

If this breaks in 10 years time, I'll buy a new one….

Mine is yet to be installed so I can't give you my personal experience.

According to Whirlpool, the plumbers who install these get paid $130 to install.

  • hi guys - how do I figure out if this will conveniently "fit" where the existing toilet is?

Last thing I want, is to purchase this and then for the plumber to say "we need to do x, y, z and it will cost you a fortune".

What things do I need to check/measure on my existing loo?!

    • Suggest you call nuathome on 1300 014 916

Ask them what you need to know.

Bear in mind too these are "S TRAP ONLY" meaning your toilet must vent to the floor, not the wall.

Floor wastes are S trap. Wall wastes are P trap.

  • Depending on where you are, you can wait ages for these to be installed. Our install date is the end of this month and that's from the aldi sale of months ago !!

  • The drain outlet is smaller and the water flushing is less, so if you do big poos or use lots of toilet paper be prepared for blocking….

      That's really shitty

      • Indeed, this is not directed at Aldi, but all new generation "greens" toilets

        • +1

I think they've intentionally decreased the flushing power of toilets to increase poop knife sales.

Ha, came here for the comments, got distracted by your link to Reddit. Spent the last 10 minutes laughing so much my eyes are streaming.

          Thanks!

I had one installed a few months ago. Zero issues with installation and toilet fits perfectly where the old toilet sat.

    • I got one install last week no issue so far. one more to be installed this week.
Installation guys very pretty good took less than hour to install.

  • None in Canberra…

    Inlaws got this.

Installer did a good job, “disposed” of the old one (smashed it up with a hammer and put it in their bin).

It was a lot smaller than the old one, so the wall has an unfaded bit in the shape of the old toilet cistern.

But yeah, fantastic for the price.

Note: As it is cemented into the ground, it needs to dry for a day and a half before you can use it. Factor that in to your plans if you are a single bathroom household

Oh boy, that disclaimer is a doozy.

    • +1

I am surprised they cement it - most modern installs just use strong silicone - makes it much easier to remove later.

  • Available in Melbourne ?

  • Still $249 at my local Aldi - two left. Hopefully they may come down in a few days

    • Maybe try talking to them and saying the price has dropped in a lot of places

      • I'll give it a go tomorrow :)

        • Kindly let us know if you manage to get the low price. Thanks a lot.

        • @fatty08:
I spoke to a guy in the sop and he said that discounting was down to the store manager and based on floor space and time in store - as there is spare floor space in my local store the item is still at $249 but may change … the risk is waiting too long and they are all gone.

Aldi Carseldine (Nth Brisbane) has one toilet suit left, apx 1 hour ago.
Manager is friendly & negotiable, if this helps, I just paid $169ea for two units.
Last unit is located apx half way down left side of store next to electronics display cabinet.
And I went there to buy some cat food & beans, came back with 2 toilets (!)

    • Wow nice deal!

    • Aldi Carseldine (Nth Brisbane) have another 3 toilet suits.
May have access to more if the store gets Ozbargained.

Got one today for $149 in SA. They were previously $249 at this store so dropped by $100 today. Had been to another store yesterday who still had them marked at the full price of $299.

  • can someone who has this and had it installed please show a pic just wondering of the size of it our local has them reduced to clear.

  • Can confirm they have a few units (maybe 6-7) at ALDI Salisbury, QLD. Price is still $249.
